I used to sing you are my sunshine to my son when he was young and I heard it on the radio a few year's ago and called my grown son and held the phone up to the radio for a minute before talking to him so he could hear it. I also call him my sonshine often . Such a sweet special song .

You are OUR sunshine, Donna! My grandmother sang it to me and I now sing it to my grandchildren. I can’t wait until you get the lady and her pug finished and hopefully on some products. It’s my granddaughter Maya’s 12th birthday today and she adores her pug Poggin, so it would be great to get her a Donna Davis tote or something as another belated birthday present.

Oh You are such a dear @Robin Church to say so. I guess that little tune has soothed many young children and helped so many of us nod off to dream land. It's funny how little moments like that, finding the writing about it after choosing the plant, always feels as if my mother is looking over my shoulder :) I'd be honoured if you were to get something, I do plan on having it finished (as will be the lady with the owl) by next VLOG and on things, so I'll chat about it then and put link in description and all that good stuff. Happy belated birthday to Maya and what a lucky gal to have a pug. My niece has one and she is such a card! Thanks for stopping by @Robin Church

It is so enjoyable to drive the Cape roads, stop by a shop or two, and take a walk in the peace and quiet. All of this I do on my own when there. Your knowledge of plants amazes me and I love how it translates to a unique mixed arrangement. Thank you for a great vlog! The painted ladies are quite gorgeous 🌸

Oh I wish I could have shared it with all of you, it was even before KZbin existed. When I sold , it was the year before KZbin started, not that I would have known or imagined making videos for it at the time. Yet, if I still had it, it would be great content, tho I KNOW I'd never be able to make videos and run the shop, it was more than FULL time running a business :) It was actually sort of 'French' I had putty green walls and some Bergere chairs covered in a yellow toile. I used Toile patterned tissue paper to wrap my roses (well over the plastic so it didn't get wet) and I tied it with pastel shade raffia (the colours of the 18th century). I also had a penchant for using blue and white containers for plant arrangements, another way in which when I found Lalande online during lockdown I felt such a kinship with our dear Stephanie and wonderful "mummy". It's funny how these little threads weave through our life like that and every so often they get a little tug :) Thank you for stopping by @Stephen Knob and I'm happy you enjoyed it. Give a fairy garden a try, it can come in so many iterations, just make it your own.
@stephenknob75403 жыл бұрын
@@DonnaDavisArt thank you for such an enjoyable response! I can picture your shop in my mind's eye now. I would have been a regular customer I can assure you. Having owned an antiques and decorative arts shop for close to 20 years, I can most definitely sympathize with you regarding how much work it takes to run your own business, even with the help I got from my mom and dad, i was overwhelmed at times. Oh but the excitement of having a beautiful pie safe in red/brown milk paint come into the shop that I bought out from an old Chester County farmhouse. I miss those days!! Enjoy the sunny day up in Cape Cod. I'm hoping to come up this Summer. So excited!😊🌷🌷

Hello Donna. I so enjoy these outings with you, I loved the country garden with the watering can fountain it would make a great focal point in your garden. Loved the Herring weather vein, here in England they are usually cockerels like I have in the garden. There are such beautiful properties on Cape Cod but the sea view no matter where you are is always spectacular. I love your magic touches Donna with creating your animal fairy garden. Your sketch is beautiful, so stunning. Sketching in chalk makes it loose and more creative from a perspective point of the eye. They’re are magnificent Donna 😘♥️
@DonnaDavisArt3 жыл бұрын
Thank you @jason nash so happy you enjoyed it and isn't that watering cag fountain adorable? I do love a cockeral weather vein as well, we've those here too and foxes and pigs. They are all magical , though usually well out of my price range :) I'm happy you liked my little animal fairy garden , there is just something fun about using miniatures in gardens that makes me smile and then you can break them apart later and reuse all the pieces, like making over a room in your house, but much easier. Yes, I love the chalk and pastel for that reason. I always enjoy doing sketches and study in a very loose way, as the 'final' piece is usually more detailed oil. I find I enjoy both ways so simply feel the need to do both, tho maybe I should stop calling them 'studies' and just another version of my art :) Thank you so much for stopping by and I shall see you in chats and comments.

Hi Donna, back for a second look . Sunday was exhausting with all the premiers that we follow. Last one was 22.00 in UK and later in Europe. I had been so engrossed during the evenings events that I forgot to put on our electric blanket and ended up in a cold bed. Worth it for the joy etc you and our other creators give. By the way you worked out the implications your time change made correctly and we received your vlog at our normal time.
@DonnaDavisArt3 жыл бұрын
It was a long day, wasn't it but a fun one. Oh no, cold bed ah well, hopefully it warmed up eventually. Yes, it was an hour later for my American viewers, but probably was a better time for them. I think your time change comes next week? Or is it in 2?

It’s especially nice when you stop and study something. I loved the orchids. Do you know how easy it is to propagate African violets? Take a glass of water, cover the top with tin foil and make 4 holes in it wit a knitting needle. Cut 4 leaves about 3 inches Mong and push them into the water through the holes. Put in a cool place and in no time little roots appear and when they are about 1 1/2 inches carefully plant them in little pots. It is such fun. 😊
