Shopping at MERCADO 28 in Cancun WASN'T what I thought it would be

Mercado 28 is a local market in Cancun, Mexico where you can find souvenirs of all kinds: jewelry, bags, shoes, clothing, hats, handcrafted art pieces, traditional Mexican items (calaveras, sombreros, bottles of tequila) and all the classic items we all know (magnets, cups, shot glasses, keychains, etc). It's far enough from the tourist zone to get a more local experience, while still being close enough to get there and back to your hotel in the same afternoon.
I spent a few hours there with my friend Terrance exploring everything the market has to offer, and in all honesty, it wasn't what we were expecting!

My wife was from cancun, so when we went on vacation there. Visited all the relatives. An eye opening experience. Spent more time in the Wal-Mart there some years than I did on the beach ⛱.
