Thank you for this lovely tour! I was raised with my family using cast iron and plan to continue to use it over any other kinds of cookware, it's a classic for a reason.

This video is so incredible and it looks like you had a great time 🤩 thank you Ms Frugal Willie Mae for sharing your trip. The Lodge factory store looks like an awesome place to visit. Personally speaking I love cooking with cast iron. It cooks things differently. One of my favorite things to cook in cast iron is homemade chili.

I would look through all the 2nds and find the ones with the best cooking surface or least amount of damage and buy so much I couldn't fit it all in the car. I get a couple of 1st run quality too. Nice video you almost looked overwhelmed when you walked into the showroom I know I would be like woo look at that.

I would have loved to know your mam. I was so excited about everything I saw in the shop that I forgot that I was on camera. My camera man had to keep me on track. The wagon wheels and moon pies may taste similar. I bought one of the mini moon pies for $1 US and it was perfect size for a diabetic person.

Thank you for the tour. What can I do for you to season my cast iron pan. Unfortunately it's not a "Lodge" because it was given to me. I just can't seem to season it properly.
@frugalwilliemae3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Frank, for your feedback. Cast iron doesn’t do good if you wash a lot with soap and water. I usually use hot water and a stainless steel scrubber that doesn’t have detergent in it to clean mine. For years I just rubbed Vegetable shortening on the inside and bottom of the pan after washing then I wiped the pan with a paper towel. You want your cast iron to look black if it is gray color. The build up of oils or shortening in your cast iron pans will keep it somewhat nonstick. Only if I cook fish or other odorous food do I ever use soap, then I make sure to thoroughly dry my pan before applying shortening or cooking spray or oil. I hope that helps.
@frugalwilliemae3 жыл бұрын
Do not put shortening on outside of pan!!
