i agree with you 100%, best visibility by far, ive ran a bunch of dozers, being a finish dozer guy ... the 39s are amazing for finish work but got no ass... the 51 is the best all around dozer, you can finish, you can push, i got a 51 new in 2013... ive put 6500 hrs on it... only 1 blown hose recently... ive loved everything about it... i build roads so the dozer is my most valuable machine... we have a 39 , a 51, and a 61.... my 51 is the most versatile out of the 3... i have 1 complaint about my 51... it holds dirt in the engine compartment pretty bad if your not paying attention and keeping it cleaned out... you will see...my 51 is an ex not px and has rippers.... ive never once had to spray out my radiator... just reverse your fan at the end of the day ... that fan is reversible with a button on the dash

The only dozer I've operated was a Komatsu D38E. Not as big as what you're looking at I dont think but it was a cool little dozer. Really easy to operate for a non-dozer guy and she was smooth as a fresh jar of Skippy. I like Komatsu machines what little I've operated them.

im a huge caterpillar die cast collector and ran CAT equipment in the army years ago,but i will have to agree 100% that komatsu visibility is far superior.Even my die cast komatsu D51px us forestry service dozer has the exhaust and breather offset.

Good explanation of the different dozers. I have always like Cat's, but I haven't run many dozers. Come to thin of it the one dozer I ran was a Komatsu D355. Same size as a D9.

Me, id get the smaller one. Parts, maintenance is cheaper, less fuel, but mostly easier to haul. 20-30 thousand pounds is a big jump towing wise.

Boy that truck is nice to keep it nice you need to twin layer inside with ply wood and 1/6 layer steel. One trip for stone and they will dimple it iv seen it and ive lined them it lasts a few years .but that is all you want because youl want to paint inside with good rust stop so moisture dosent rot it out behing what ever is protceting it if use in plywood keep it up and think watter barier me as welder fabricator always can say every thing i fix is from watter geting in. And not geting out like if your truck has dobble frame you need to close the top seem or oil coat in between the 2 frames rust gets in their and destroys the gorgious truck iv ben paid to open up 3 and get out rust close and bend back into. Original place .

hi mate, just a little tip on when you apply your stickers , spray a bit of dishwashing liquid onto the body first then put the sticker on and it will let you move and sqeez the air from under it using a rubber sqeegie , love ya video great dozer.

Nice KW and D51PX. We have a D 51EX 08 model. We really like it. Its probably got about 6000 hrs. Its great to operate, about the best cab you could ask for. Ours has the older style chains. Does yours have the rotating bushing rails? How many hours?

You almost have me sold and I’m an old Catskinner. Broke in on a 977H Traxcavator. I know people who bought Komatsus. They love them. Actually, I’ve yet to hear a bad word. Mechanically, they are first rate and as you say, the cab is laid out with operator comfort in mind. But if I were still working it today I’d still buy Cat. Brand loyalty. The worst I ever operated was Allis Chalmers. Piece of junk. A contractor I knew told me that when Komatsu made their first big push here he traded in his Allis, got a great deal, and never looked back. All his track loaders have been Komatsus, as well as his track hoes. I remember him telling me before he retired that it was the terrific dealer support he got that cemented the brand in his mind. It was a coin flip between Komatsu and Cat. Komatsu won because it was cheaper. But in this case cheaper did not mean inferior.

Starts with a D and ends with a I. The cool thing about Komatsu is they have a joint venture with Cummins engine, Komatsu Cummins engine company... Keep it on the down low if you ever go down that road. I’ve owned lots of Komatsu machine from first generation to current and I’ve been satisfied with the performance, reliability, maneuverability and service, overall their great machines!

Awesome find my dude! Was wondering why you decided to move on from the New Holland? Maybe you mentioned it and I just wasn’t paying attention. Got some bigger jobs coming up this year or was it just simply time to go bigger? Bonus that is has GPS grading in it though! That will be nice if you decide to go that route down the road.
