🚨Due to the global semiconductor shortage, the regular sales of "Suica" and "PASMO" cards have been temporarily suspended. However, you can still obtain transportation electronic money options for short-term foreign visitors, such as "PASMO PASSPORT" and "Welcome Suica," at Narita Airport, Haneda Airport, and major train stations in the Tokyo area.

Question: I saw on a video where a Japanese guy was asked a question, to which he scrunched up his face and said something like ‘waah…mujii!’ What does that mean?
@JapanizeMe1

It's possible that the phrase you heard is "わー、まじー?! " (Waah majii), which means "for real?! or "Seriously?!" 😀The speaker might have been expressing surprise, disbelief, or strong affirmation, but depending on the context. Thank you for watching! ⭐️

I have heard that in Japanese doesn't really say No. So what does kekkou exactly mean desuka?
@raulcanuti7586
@raulcanuti7586 4 ай бұрын
It's something as: "that's all right", "It's okay". Because in the Japan culture, sounds rude to say just: "No thanks".

@@raulcanuti7586 oh, thanks. I wish to know its true meaning as well. It's like in learning English has something like " say these instead of.." but i don't really dare to say until i understand/know their meaning why say them.

@@greatFaiFai Yes, I understand your point. For sure Yuriさん will be more precise than me to give you more details. Anyway, when I go to Japan, I always use "kekkoudesu" in the meaning I told you and I note they understand exactly what I mean, so for me it's enough! 😁

Hi @greatFaiFai! You are right. In Japanese culture, we often express things in a more indirect and considerate manner. "Kekkou desu" exactly means "I’m fine" or "I’m ok." like “daijōbu desu”. Kekkou desu is more polite way of declining without using a direct “iranai desu." Japan has many interesting nuances in communication, and it's all about creating harmony in conversations. If you're interested in learning more, feel free to ask! 🇯🇵✨
