A mud room is where the washer dryer would be connected to the garage. The screened in porch area is also called a lanai. I did like the concrete wall around the pool at the 2nd house. But those kitchen cabinets!! YUCK! Definitely shows the house age! That definitely needs an upgrade! Location! Location! Location! That's what you're paying for on the 2nd house. Good luck JoJo!

House 3 for sure. The thing above the stove in the first house is a pot filler. It’s really helpful if the sink is far away from the stove so you don’t have to carry big heavy pots of water around.

No but the second house Kristen I mean a lot of updating and I know Orlando they used the gray pipes that have been outlawed so check those pipes in that house. It's hard to get homeowners insurance with that gray piping so you'll have to do immediate upgrade on Plumbing not mention that kitchen total and redo

The thing in the kitchen allows you to fill your pots with water without having to lug it back and forth from the sink. You can just pull that thing over the pot and turn it on to fill it up. then slide it back out of the way for storage.

When I had to make a 'home' decision some time ago, I wound up buying into a mobile home park. I owned the M.H. and could do what I wanted with it (within reason) and the price was VERY reasonable! The downside: paying the space rent to the landlord. That park had a clubhouse, pool table room, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi tub for 10, and lots of green areas. I eventually sold it for MUCH more than I paid and moved to another state. So, just for the heck of it, I'd suggest looking at some mobile homes; you'll be surprised how efficient they are and well laid out with enough room to feel comfortable. Look at the double wide units to start; maybe a triple wide as well. Peace JoJo, you'll get there.

Love this video. I think it’s smart to buy a home. It will pay off in the long run. Also, don’t discard the homes that may not be updated. You can always renovate a kitchen and make it your own. It would also be great content for your video. Also, this current market allows you to negotiate the sales price and maybe even contribution to closing cost. Good luck

Also you can renovate the kitchen or bedrooms. Don't shop based on furniture or interior design. Think of the space as a blank canvas. Create what you want. Even if you renovate one room at a time over a couple of years you can slowly make any house your own signature Style.

I love that your sharing this experience with us! Based on my experience in buying a home near the Walt Disney World area, you want to look at polk county. It's a lot more affordable and you can find some amazing properties with ridiculous amenities that you can't get for a good price in Shaq's old hood. Check out Balmoral resort in Haines City, Championsgate and most definitely Reunion. They have ridiculous houses for a lot less than what you would expect and remember the HOA is an expense you have to pay the entire time you own the home so vet them. Make sure you can do what you want with your property when you want to. I'm assuming you will have a neon sign in your front yard stating that it's JoJos playhouse. Not all HOAs will find that appealing. Good luck with your house hunt!

Man this is awesome I even learned somethings in this vlog appreciate the info Zane !!! And honestly , if I was going house hunting in orlando I would go with the third house I mean its affordable and easy to split payments down the middle if you're bringing on roommates not only that its right in the mix of all the theme parks , food areas , grocery stores , & gas stations for those who have to fill up excessively.. I mean plus the house itself is very spacious and has a real nice home vibe to it that you can create into your own. And its in a nice chill relaxed neighborhood which is a major plus if your about community and living in an environment where you and your kids and roommates will be safe!!!

Looking around is fun for sure! I’d recommend that you start small (since you’re a “single person” haha) but if you’re serious, talk to a bank about a mortgage and they’ll tell you everything you would need to know about $ to put down and what your future payments would be so you know your exact price range to keep searching in :)
@TripNWithRed Жыл бұрын
We love your channel JoJo. You have certainly been successful here on KZbin and will continue to grow. Don't be in a huge hurry to purchase a home though without a large down-payment to bring the payment way down. A home requires a lot of time maintaining the yard, damage from Hurricanes, etc. Your channel and all of the social media platforms require tons of your time so is a house good right now? I'd definitely suggest a gated community. You don't want random people showing up to your home.
@JoJosWorld Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Will do!
@hlipps11 Жыл бұрын
I see your points and they’re valid, but I have a different viewpoint. You don’t actually need a large down payment to purchase a house. Assuming JoJo qualifies for a conventional loan, the program allows only 3% down. However, Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) would be applied, meaning JoJo would have an additional cost added to his monthly mortgage payment to protect the lender if he stopped making payments (defaulted). Once you’ve reached 20 percent equity - either through paying down your loan balance over time or through rising home values - you can contact your loan servicer about removing PMI from your mortgage. Paying an apartment complex is the worst financial decision you could make if you are financially responsible. In Orlando, you can find homes that have cheaper monthly “rent” (mortgage payment) than what he’s paying at his current apartment. If he had a friend move in, he could split his mortgage payment and his friend would pay him his “rent”. So, instead of paying an apartment complex the roommate pays JoJo. Literally his friend is helping him pay down is mortgage, but has a place to live.. it’s a win-win! Also, I have a house in Orlando. The yard work is very manageable, my house didn’t experience any issues during the hurricane, and there’s no problems. If JoJo decides to buy a house, he should start small and work his way up. Sure, it may not be in Windermere or Doctor Philips, but he has options. I would never rent an apartment in my life ever again. But also, stay away from condos and townhomes.. the HOA fees are ridiculous in Orlando.

I'm retired and would love to move to Orlando, hubby, however is not retired so there is that. When we were looking for a house we did the following: Hubby told me it would be a year before he had what he wanted to put down saved, he told me his max budget, we decided our must haves and our nice to haves. I looked for a year, only open houses (he also didn't want a realtor and I used to work for a real estate company). While I did look at houses in our max budget, I didn't seriously consider any unless they were $10,000 below the budget. After the year, I narrowed it down and took him to see two or three. We got our house $40,000 below the budget he set.

The second house was great, just needed updates to the kitchen and bathrooms. I can understand not wanting to deal with that especially since this would be your first place on your own. The furniture gave it that "retro" look which threw you off (which BTW was NOT professionally staged and was probably staged by the previous owner) some new modern pieces would a loooong way. The pool area was awesome.

Best thing you can do is to get pre-approved on a home loan. That way you know how much your budget is. Also, 8nclude the homeowners insurance to the monthly payment via an escrow account. They will offer it when you are in talks with the bank. Also, keep an eye on the home loan rates. Anything under 3.25% is awesome

And that price point $550K and down payment of 20-25K I say buy a house, 3 bedroom home perfect. Keep the home in one person’s name. Then have room mates pay you rent. You realize Kyle and Dan’s rent help off set price pay of your mortgage. Older home needing renovations. Remodeling slowly in time. But a retro fixer upper.
