In this video I head to one of the best malls in Toronto. I take you on a tour inside the Canada Goose virtual store and get to test a jacket in their chill room! I visit GAP, Roots, H&M, Abercrombie & Fitch, Sporting Life, Hudson Bay, Sephora, American Eagle, Aerie, and get a feel for shopping amid the Covid19 pandemic and what the protocol is when shopping.
My first stop is for coffee at Starbucks on the way to the mall, of course! I then head east from Oakville to Sherway Gardens mall, situated in Etobicoke (pronounced without the “k”, just say “Etobicoe”!). Etobicoke is the perfect midpoint between Toronto and Oakville. Sherway Gardens mall has everything you are looking for. The mall aisles are wide and it never seems congested. It is a deceptively large mall. The layout of the mall can be confusing, it is basically a figure 8. Walk from the Apple store to an elegant Tesla showroom, SportCheck and then head to the largest Indigo store with two levels! Find top restaurants, coffee shops, sneaker stores and shoe shops galore. To add, there are chocolate stores thrown in amongst gorgeous boutique stores - you can’t go wrong! You might want to sneak a peak at Tiffany’s, Tory Birch and Harry Rosen if you dare.
Then there’s Lululemon - proudly Canadian sport & leisure wear. Only the very best yoga kit out there! The line up to get in was so long that I never ventured going in to show you. Best you do that when you get the chance.
There were fabulous sales on at H&M, with almost up to 80% off, it was worth taking a look. GAP had sales on in the store and a further 40% off on some items. Roots had a sale on some of their winter stock. Excellent time to buy winter gear! Zara had a huge sale on - clothing items for $20 and $50 for winter coats!
Canada Goose has a virtual store at this mall. It is quite spectacular. I would suggest you head that way. It is a super experience for adults and most definitely for kids. They have a chill room which is minus 15 degrees Celsius and has real snow! They have jackets and boots for you to try on and then walk into the chill room to measure the coat’s effectiveness! Such an amazing concept.
As for dealing with Covid19 mall protocol, many stores expect you to wear a mask, but not all of them. At every single store you will be asked to use their hand sanitiser. The washrooms at Sherway Gardens were open for public use.
I never leave Sherway Gardens without walking into the Vans store, grabbing some Nespresso pods along with downing a free shot of their latest espresso! Sherway Gardens has a fabulous food court upstairs with seating to feed the tummy and then to feed the soul, head downstairs to Sweet Jesus for decadent ice cream or sip on a coffee as you browse, from Starbucks, Aroma or my personal favourite, Nordstrom E-bar Artisan Coffee. (Do try their macadamia flat white coffee).
There is so much parking at Sherway Gardens, both outside and underground. Access is very easy on and off the highways, it is just outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown but still not more than a 20 to 25 minute drive depending on traffic.
I loved shopping and being out and about after so many months! I wish I could have visited more stores for you. Some were still closed or would not allow me to film. I hope you enjoyed the little tour of what it's like to go shopping in a mall in Toronto, Canada.
