SHOPPING in WILKO & MORRISONS: DAILY VLOGS UK

Welcome to our Saturday. Today we do quite a lot of varied stuff including going shopping in Wilko and Morrisons. My Cookology countertop dishwasher has changed locations in the kitchen and I tell you about two more stupid things I did relate to that! We head off to my boyfriend's house to stay a couple of nights there with him.

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We're a UK mother and daughter vlogging combo that loves to get out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.
We're a formerly homeschooling/home-educating family of two based in the UK dealing with the daily challenges of managing Izzy's severe, chronic eczema and her education. I think that March has been a month of problems that refuse to be conquered. I am looking forward to April and an ending of the difficulties. I also have been shopping for seeds but can't seem to make up my mind on what I want to plant this year. Pumpkins are always a go, and so are Zucchinis.

@@PlanetImo I heavily mulched last year. I think I'm going to space the plants further apart so i can actually see what they are up to. Last year was a jungle. I never found the potatoes I planted last year,

Lots of changes in the kitchen, looking good. I am amazed at the pronunciation of those letters. Very interesting. My prescription refill messed up, only one month not three. I pay $5 for generic for either 1 or 3 months. I had to replace some plastic baskets from 1980, they finally got brittle and were breaking. I like things that last a long time. That's neat you can bounce between two houses. Variety!

Oh no - sorry to hear about your prescription mess-up. What a pest. Ah yes - in non-pandemic times we bounce between three - including my Dad's place, too. Izzy has her own bedroom there, too (though I sleep on the sofa when we stay there).

I just love when ya all go grocery shopping. The Foods look so good! : ) My son started the Vegan thingy. We have vegan foods in our area by Morning Star. Spent over 300.00 on vegan foods. He better eat it! Hahaha!

So how did businesses stay in business?Did your government supplement their losses?We have lost so many small businesses because of just a small lockdown, not nearly as tight as yours.Buying nonessential stuff has kept most of them afloat.

Well - I don't know. I'm a self employed freelancer and have received govt funding to 'stay at home' and I'm assuming that small business owners have had some support or other? I don't know the details of every individual's circumstances to be honest, although I suspect many small businesses have struggled or gone under. The Welsh Govt had all non-essential retail outlets closed. The first time round, back last March, we were still allowed to buy non-essential things from supermarkets, but obviously couldn't from other places that didn't sell non-essential items as they were closed. The govt felt this was unfair on small businesses, so they banned supermarkets from selling non-essential items, too. I suspect what actually happened, is a lot of people purchased from Amazon instead... You could certainly still buy things on line and I know many small retailers are advertising their wares to be purchased on line - advertised in their shop windows. Some small shops are doing a click and collect thing for non essential items, too. Some businesses have a phone number in their window and are taking orders for various services by phone.
