I think you should make sure your lenses are clean before filming. That’s why they always have such huge auras around lights and it looks hazy.

Build your mom a van or do a cargo conversion. There's not a single large corporate rv or travel trailer that I have found that is well built or engineered. They may look nice, but you can spend 6 figures and still get rats nest wiring and leaky plumbing, not to mention frame flex and walls and roofs that leak. Apart from Globe Trekker, I haven't found a structural insulated panel that works either. The small van builders are where its' at.

A couple of those trailers I also looked at, like the 13 foot Aurora and Catalina, both have no shower surround, so you have to wipe down the walls after the shower. I didn’t understand why they didn’t include a freezer. Initially I was told the fridge only ran on AC, but it is actually 12 volt. Trailers are interesting for use as a base, but I’m sticking with my van for now

I went to Hershey a couple years ago, did a two day trip and I don’t think I saw everything. I like the Shasta but would trade the sofa for a 2 person dinette. “Your favorite” had a nice bathroom, especially the sink area - lots of counter space - some barely have enough room for a toothbrush. I like to have a comfortable dinette, one that you could sit at for hours and still be comfy. Funny you mention designing RVs, some seem like there was not a lot of thought put into them. Also, don’t discount a used Airstream or the other higher end brands - they really are built better and should last longer. Thanks for taking me along 🤗

I think when I build my pull-behind, I'll just get an 8x16 enclosed car trailer and build my own thang. Cheaper. Better insulation. Won't have to delete the stuff that I don't want.

Your honesty was refreshing in this video. We need to educate people to be budget conscious and realistic with their off-road dreams. This, in turn, will cause manufacturers to adjust to better prices and quality. Right now the industry is delusional and perhaps so are the customers.

Make sure they don't have nonsense about requiring them to be empty during transportation. Some are so cheaply built, you cannot fill the water tank or the frame will break on the road. The pleated skirt is fantastic. Don't know why they aren't more popular.

I've been looking at travel trailers a lot to full time in, but they're all just so cheaply built. I'm seriously leaning towards doing a cargo trailer conversion instead.

I would highly recommend watching videos from the Liz Amazing KZbin channel. She goes into a deep dive of the problematic build quality for a lot of trailers and motorhomes. The last thing I want to see for you guys is for your mom to be super excited for a trailer only to have a myriad of issues with it once it's driven off the lot.

Be aware how to tell a Wooden camper to a aluminum built camper.. Aluminum built camper has smooth siding, Wooden built has the rigged siding. I never knew that until I use to Haul campers to dealerships across Country. Wooden is heavier than Aluminum built, Wooden gotta worry about termites and carpenter ants.

That's a great place to quickly spent way more than you can afford. She better first make a list with minimal requirements, budget, economy and practicality driving or hauling it, insurance, etc. Maybe it's something American, but you really shouldn't need giant fridges, freezers and ovens in trailers or campers. Let alone the terrible always in there microwaves. Unless you hate good food.

There is so much wasted space in RVs. They are designed for weekenders who will be spending 99% of the time away from the RV. Van designers would make much better RVs.
