そうですね！ Japan only has 部 or clubs, so members can only participate in that 部/club. But in the US athletes are athletes, so they can play in any sport they want to play (during that sport’s season). So, like, Patrick Mahomes was the star QB of his HS football team, but also a starting pitcher for his HS baseball team. Japan’s system is kind of limiting for young athletes. 野球部の部員だから野球以外ほかのスポーツはダメだなど～it doesn’t make sense. 鈴木さんは野球以外のスポーツは？Did you ever want to try any other sports?
