The true gold medal winner, our Olympic champion of hearts, is Kelvin Kiptum. May he rest in peace. It makes me very sad that almost no one mentions him.

Is the women’s marathon also online?
@simonmetais38464 ай бұрын
@@sebastianschuster11 For some unknown reason the Olympics didn't upload the Paris 2024 women's marathon video coverage on their official KZbin channel as they did for the men's. However, the full video coverage of the race has been published on the official Olympics website, you can find it in the Videos > Paris 2024 replays section (link of the Paris 2024 video replays web page is in the description of the video for the men's marathon otherwise, at the top). Tell me if you were able to find it with these info, and if that helped other people too ! 😉

Tamrat Tola, you ran that race like a lion! The world is watching 🥇 🇪🇹
@michael464 ай бұрын
Under normal circumstances he would have taken silver behind the world record holder Kelvin Kiptum who died in a self-inflicted car accident. Olympia has lost the potential Olympic champion Kelvin Kiptum. The Marathon competition has lost its best.

@@michael46 Agreed! I saw Kelvin Kiptum run side by side Tamirat Tola from 35 to 39 km, then Kiptum pulled away for the gold!

Tamirat Tola supremely talented, flies, glides, pulls the whole of his body like an aeroplane sailing through a cloud, keeps the speed, keeps the strength, gives no chance , so confident of running, of winning. Olympic champions are born of steel and then moulded into gold.

Eliud Kpchoge and Bekele are Athletics legends, but in these games it was clear that they no longer have the capacity to win Olympic tournaments. age is a burden, maybe it's the best time to retire
@AndreasKriswanto19894 ай бұрын
Eliud won 16 out of 20 marathons he competed in before Paris Olympic, with Berlin 2023 being the last major he won. While I agree age might catch him up and the next Olympic won't be in horizon, I believe he still has that pull to compete in the elite level. It takes a village to win marathon, and this year has been a turmoil in his life off the field especially after death threat to his family in regards to Kiptum's accident. With better mental state, hopefully we can still witness his love for the game in a next couple of years.
@caseysmith5444 ай бұрын
or move on to master's age group records for specific events or for the country the race is run in. Maybe even go on to run road 50K and longer events like the South African Comadres Marathons or the Two Oceans Marathon also in South Africa or even some bigger 6 to 12 hour events done on a city block/in a park on a bike path.
