Your vast knowledge of heating system design is awesome. I'm glad you can pass on your expertise to us lesser mortals. Keep up the amazing work

Pink floyd Wish you were here. I saw Rodger Waters 3 times and in 29. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan. Wish you were here was the first song I've ever learned on my guitar. I still have yet to see David Gilmore but man The Wall was awesome, the props and performance is truly a work of perfection. I saw The Dark Side of the moon in Milwaukee at Summerfest in the Amphitheater. Then the 3rd one I saw was a mixed set of all their albums. SO AWESOME

Great video. And I've read Dan Holohans books "Pumping away" and "Primary Secondary pumping made easy"..... Great books. But all units of measure are imperial ( Fahrenheit, BTUs etc) I'm a UK plumber so had to convert everything to KW, littes per min and celcius.

With your close coupled tees, would you increase the diameter of the tees to encourage pressure loss through the tees? Eg- primary circuit 1", close coupled tees to secondary circuit 1 1/4" then reduce down the secondary piping. Or would you use the same size bore tee (1" tees on the 1" primary piping). Thanks. Carl (in UK)

Why does the common pipe need to be a max of 4 pipe diameters long or 12 inches? What happens if it is twice that length?

To eliminate head loss thru the section.

Hi Bob, I am no pro, but I've built a hydronic snowmelt system with primary/secondary loops. The system is coming up fine, but after about 30 minutes the GPM to the instant hot water heater (Takagi modulating condensing) falls to below minimum flow and it shuts down. If I turn off the supply to the heater and turn it back up, it fires up again, but the cycle repeats. What am I doing wrong? I can share the system design or anything else that may help. Thank you in advance. I can help you build a pendulum wave: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKSsmKiYis-Hmc0
