Can this ‪@RYOBITOOLSUSA‬ RY404150VNM 40V Leaf Blower really be able to blow, suck, and mulch? We did our best to prove otherwise. Powered by the 40-volt 4Ah batteries, the brushless motor turns two counter-rotating blades that handles multiple jobs. You get up to 100mph with the narrow tip, then the broad tip provides up to 600cfm. Changing from Blower to Vacuum is done by a knob on the top of the RYOBI Blower Vac. Turning the knob actually turns the fan housing 180 degrees. For vacuum and mulching, the leading fan blade includes a thin metal blade as the leading edge. This leading edge chops up the debris and allows the bag to hold up to 20x more than just raking. This kit with two 4Ah 40V batteries will set you back at the ‪@HomeDepot‬ about $469. You get a 5-year warranty on the blower/vac, and the batteries are covered for 3 years.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. kzbin.infoUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

Seems like a very good mulcher/vacuum from Ryobi. I'm going to wait and see what else comes out and see what the different changes of the companies make on their tool. But I must say Ryobi is the innovator of tools. Thanks for sharing.

i have been waiting for something like this to come out. i have used the corded ones from black & decker and walmarts hyper tough and love them. i am not a fan on the bag style they put on this. i was hoping you would say, " kit at $350ish" but $469 and tool only $400 is just insane. i have a few other ryobi 40v tools, and would consider a bare tool for $200 at most but not this much. considering a corded mulcher is $50 at wally world, with an easier to use bag and $50 for an extension cord, you are still way ahead on this one. lets get the price in line ryobi and i might get one.

I had a 120v black and decker leaf hog that mulched. I miss that option when I went to ego blower. But I love not dragging a drop cord

I got the system and must say that it is very difficult, and I struggled to turn the knob when installing the vacuum adapter they need to come up with an easier turning system. and the cost is a little pricey the vacum is adaquate for small amounts of dry leaves and such. the 40v fully charged batteries while in vacuum mode last 10 minutes at high speed, definitely need your backup batterie, does a great job at chopping and mulching the leaves leaving your leaves to allmost dust like consistency blower is nice works as good as my 40volt ry40403 blower that I have had and still use for many year, if this last as long as that and if it begins to smooth out or gets easier to turn over time I will be happy,( the knob that is) I have owned many ryobi products and I have many 40 volt tools that I enjoy including weed wacker, chainsaw time will tell on this

The knob is impossible to turn. I don’t know if leaf debris gets in the mechanism.

I like your product when I can get it to run for a while. But I'm having a heck of a time switching the knob from vacuum to neutral and to blower. It's very hard to turn at times almost impossible. It takes a lot of strength, and i'm a pretty strong guy. It's working a lil smoother now, as I keep it on low when vacuuming. This seems to prevent too many rocks and sticks, causing a jam in the impeller. Lessening the time for which I have to turn the knob back and forth.

I bought this very same piece of equipment with high hopes of it doing what it claims it can do. that said i'm sadly disappointed since i really wanted this to be better. The blower is OK, not great but good enough. The vacuum/mulcher NOT SO GOOD. yes it will suck up leaves but if you get any little bit of stray material it will choke. I just think 40 volt DC battery, though it sounds good just doesn't cut it. The other thing I didn't like is that the storage bag for leaves quickly fills up. The MULCHING function of the impellers isn't up to the hype. Reluctantly I'm returning this to Home Depot. I so much do NOT want to go the route of a gas blower/vacuum. So... will likely settle for a CORDED version which will be able to deliver more power. Going that route means dragging around a 14 gauge outdoor power cord. But that's one of the trade offs.

Hey TJ! It’s been over a year now since this quite impressive and positive review and I’m super curious about something. Is this something you still use? If so how has it held up? And would you still recommend it? Do you still feel it’s as impressive as it was in this video? Obviously taking time and use and wear into consideration for all those questions.

I thought the same thing. I can't imagine plastic blades lasting very long. My dad has one and it burned out the first autumn he used it. Ryobi replaced it and that one burned out too. Now he's on his third.

I think your better off with the following corded garden vacs. These all have metal inpeller and not a plastic one. The corded Ryobi RBV3000CESV is a 3000W Garden Vac and blower. The corded Bosch Universal garden Tidy is a 3000W, the Worx WG505E is a 3000W Trivac. There is a Draper 3200W 93165 garden vac also, If you want the absolute best garden vac with blower, you can't beat the Toro Ultra Plus garden vac. Its corded also.

ita way better than the older ryobi vac attack but is a nightmare to switch to blower, but im never going to use the blower feature as I have better options. The suction is good but it lacks the front wheels the vac attack had so i macguyvered the vac attacks wheels onto the new model with epoxy and zip ties and now its just magic, lol!

I'm looking for a cordless electric backpack or possibly roll along high-powered Vacuum to pick up litter outdoors, including broken glass. The subject of this video will not do as the glass would shred up the bag. Does Ryobi make a model that meets my needs?

not a bad tool but not quite pro grade although it has a pro grade price. The other blower vacs seem ok and the corded models will usually have the most power. Still, I would like one for $100.00 less.

Might be better switching batteries to a blower and Vacattack, than paying having a single blower/mulcher. Switching it to a mulcher then a blower again, when needed, might be too much of PITA.

For the price, do some research and just buy specialized. You're bound to get a better value. The mulcher "works" but doesn't meet my expectations. If you're still wanting something more along the lines of this, go with a corded B&D model. As of now, I'm not a fan of cordless mulchers.

@@ToolsInAction4uI wouldn't want to live in LA just because of the amount of people. However, rules/laws are usually put in place for a reason. There are a few scum bags in my neighborhood who like to blow their leaves out into the street with the thought of "not my problem now." The leaves end up at the bottom of our hill where an old lady lives. I guess it's her problem now.

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK. It started up and ran good. started picking up leaves. When the bag started getting heavey I had to push forward with the handle in front to push the nozzle down because the weight of the bag was lifting the nozzle off the ground. The handle started letting loose and then broke. So I tried to hold the bag up with my arm to keep the nozzle on the ground. I felt a couple of shocks. Don't know where they came from because the damn thing appears to be all plastic. Then it lost most of it's power. No change now from low power to high power. The battery still had 2 leds on but I swapped out the battery anyway with a fresh one and that did not help. So I looked on the ineternet for help and I guess they are new because I could not find any help.

The two best garden vacs are the corded Worx WG50xxxx series, the Bosch 3000 universal garden tidy and the best is the Toro Ultra Plus. It's the most powerful Vac for public consumer market and not pro grade commercial market @@ProblemChild-xk7ix

Why wouldn't you just throw the contents back in the original trash can for a better comparison? That's just a very poor presentation of what you were trying to convey - i.e., that mulching saves space.
