I follow a lot of youtube fishermen, and have only been watching your videos for a few days now but I'm hooked. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm, and more importantly for your spot-on commentary about stuff and things. You are truly a lover of the fish you seek and catch; very few youtube fishermen seem to have the compassion and utility of dispatching their catch respectfully, minimizing trauma. You, sir, are the truest lover of fish that I have ever seen. I am and will always be grateful for your videos.

Happy New Year, big fella. Slow going down here in Mounts Bay too. 4 hours out in the Kayak this morning for 3 measly mackerel and a tiny pollock. Could it be atmospheric pressure or the beam trawlers out of Newlyn hoovering the sea dry - I know which my money’s on 🤔

Where to go and stay and in what month in Norway would be best for a fishing trip
@Billyfishing_watch6 ай бұрын
Hi. If you are fishing from a boat it doesn't really matter what time of year you visit. From the shore, October into November is the best! There is good fishing up and down the whole length of Norway, but the best fishing is inside the Arctic circle. A good place to start would be, Bødo and the area around it. If you are travelling with a group of people five to six, it might pay to stay in a lodge. like the one linked in the description. But if you are just one guy by himself maybe ranting a car and getting a tent staying in campsites, is the better option. That way you can move around freely and find fishing. Stay out around the coast, not deep inside the fjords. Not unless the weather is really bad and you can't find anywhere to fish. Thanks Brother 😁👌
@halcofdrops6 ай бұрын
No one does this, but have you though about a rubber mat to slide the cod up the bank so they don't get too roughed up by the rocks? In the end it's more to carry though.
@Billyfishing_watch6 ай бұрын
Yes it is more to Carry. And since I move around so much on the marks, it's not very practical. But don't worry too much, the fish are pretty tough. Thanks Brother 😁👌
@fabiansw75216 ай бұрын
how the rod guides are not getting frozen ? I have sat home this weekend cuz -10 where I am, and the braid does not like it as well
@Billyfishing_watch6 ай бұрын
Hi bud. I really don't get problems with ice on the line, or on the guides. If you work the lure very hard, twang the fishing line when you're working the lure. And it shakes most of the water off and doesn't cause a problem. I fish in minus 14-c sometimes. I have had problems with the line on the spools of my bait rods freezing up. Not much I can do about it, thanks Brother 😁👌

@Billyfishing_watch5 ай бұрын
Hi Robert. Yes! The south of Norway has some excellent fishing as well. Maybe not as fast as the Arctic, but more species available to catch. The fjords are very deep and very long, and if you venture far into the fjords there is less oxygen and less fish. Stay out by the open coast 👌
