I've been cruising with my family for over 20 yrs and never had to take my passport off the ship. Sailed on MSC Seashore this past January and didnt need it. The more you talked the madder I got!! How dare they take your money and tell you that you can't get it back!! The people handling that excursion messed up really bad and they were trying to cover it up. That manager wasn't that busy that he couldn't see you for 4 days!! If they returned your money it would have been an admission of quilt for them and they would have to explain to corporate why! The excursion staff need to be reprimanded!! I'm so glad you went to GS and it worked out for you.. Thank you for mentioning the families that save up for these trips. God bless your family🙏🏾💕

Been on every Cruise line and have taken my passport off ship in every port Reason being is that if you were to ever get stuck in port I’ve also been on over 60 Cruises and just got off Royal Caribbean and they always say to take your passport with you

Yes we actually are even throwing a group cruise on MSC. The problems we had were isolated events that could kinda happen with any cruise line, MSC did a horrible job after the fact but that’s a leadership issue

Oh my gosh as soon as I saw that they got left the Lord laid that same exact thing on my heart that we don’t understand sometimes but the Lord could’ve prevented something from happening like to one of the girls so don’t always look at missing out on something as something negative so girl you are spot on! Yall!! We went on an MSC and it was horrible... in the beginning. Like you said, it was alot of people's first cruise and they said that it was their last!! We tried to assure them that they should not make a determination based on this cruise. I am open to cruising with them again, only because they compensated us for the inconvenience (long story), and because the cruise did get better after the initial glitches. I love your channel. Thank you for the update. In all honesty still waiting to hear from someone who gave MSC a solid review. I’ve cruised on Royal, Norwegian, Celebrity and Carnival. I would like to try other cruise lines but I will wait before getting on MSC.

We’ve been on MSC six times. Most recently in February on the same ship as in the video, Seashore. We find MSC to be on the same level as NCL and a step above Carnival. We are NCL Platinum and Carnival Gold. Their situation was definitely unfortunate and their treatment afterward was abhorrent but it is not the norm.

Did you have to apply for vaccine exemption for the kids on this cruise line? How has that worked out for you? I’m going on the Mardi Gras in April and need an exemption for my 5yr old. I’m nervous we won’t get it. What has been your process with that?

Rich and Jazzy!, I always enjoy the content and your beautiful family. I had my first cruise in 2021 after cruising restarted on MSC and I won't be going on a second MSC Cruise! We felt customer service was appalling and that includes the wait staff. We couldn't be sure if the staff was not properly trained or prepared. Example 1, Pina Colada mix was not available in one bar at all, they never had the mix in stock. Example 2, we ordered Surf and Turf in MDR that was on the menu and told that was not available even though we were willing to pay the extra cost! Example 3, the 3 MDR dinners my husband selected were all badly prepared (my MDR dinners were all good). He was so disgusted we never had another MDR dinner for our cruise. Keep it real, fight for your dollars. They were truly at fault on your excursion disaster!

I've only been on 1 cruise in 2019. My sister-in-laws father passed away at home on out third day. RCL was wonderful. They gave her free internet for texts and free phone calls. They asked several times a day if there was anything that she needed. That was way more than anyone could expect. I know that the customer is not always right but when you don't even listen to them, that makes you wrong.

I have always left my passport in my cabin and just had a picture on my phone. My first cruise was on the MSC Divinia everything was a 10 excluding the food was a 3, hopefully it has gotta better now.

Never had to take my passport to get down into Cozumel through Carnival. Your ship card & a picture ID works to enter Cozumel from the port.

We cruised with MSC once before. Bad experience. We had to be assigned a table for dinner. For the whole trip. When we showed up at the dinner table, we were surprised to find there were two other people sitting at the table. We were assigned to a shared table and they did not even bother to tell us when assigning the table.

Most people put their passports and other documents in the room safe on cruises. The sail and sign card becomes your I.D. and credit card while cruising.

Never missed an MSC excursion on any of my 6 cruises with them. Everyone meets at the designated spot onboard at the time shown on the tickets and everyone walks off together as our group number is called. Always been very organized for us. BTW, we always take our passports at all foreign ports of call with every cruise line just in case we miss the ship. If you miss the ship for any reason you’ll need to have your passport to fly home.

@@NotAverage08 Relax. I was just trying to say that their experience with MSC Excursions is not the norm. In fact, we’ve cruised with MSC three times since November. Most recently, on the same ship they were on, Seashore, in February. The excursion team ran very smoothly and was better organized than any Carnival cruise we’ve ever been on. We are frequent cruisers and have been on over 25 cruises since 2016 on almost all of the major cruise lines. I am not discounting their experience but it was an isolated event with additional contributing factors and is not the norm.

@@NotAverage08 Regardless, I stand by my recommendation that all travellers take their passports with them when disembarking the ship at a foreign port of call. There can be any number of unforseen events which may result in your missing the ship. Medical emergencies or transportation issues for example. If the ship sails away with your passports in the cabin you would need to seek assistance at your embassy which may not even be located in the same town as the port. But if you have your passports in hand you will more easily be able to arrange a flight back home or to the next port of call to rejoin the ship.

Yes, please keep us informed if any future improvements. We can’t & won’t spend money to be tossed around when we’re suppose to be enjoying ourselves. I just showed my son your video and he said the excursion crew is going to get chewed out for that. MSC is a European cruise line that's competing with other lines now in the Caribbean. I understand an agree. I just talked to Carnival regarding a cruise that is not happening because the ship is going into dry dock. I didn't get an email or anything to notify me. The cruise agent told me that the cruise was cancelled and the phone cut off; I called back and the next cruise agent checked and said that the notication went to the travel agency, well I am the travel agent and if the travel agency main office just didn't forward the email no problem I'll deal with that. Issue is I was glad that I had not made a flight reservation yet. The cruise agent said that she would issue a refund since I didn't get the notication and it was too late to pick another ship. REALLY NO PROBLEM. I will just write this one off and either go to my timeshare or find another cruise for about the same amount. I am not mad at Carnival, stuff happens. Like you said he was like the Wizard of Oz, INVISIBLE. I get it. That is how I felt when I sat on hold a long time and it took two agents for me to get an answer. smh ANYWAY, hope you and gthe family enjoyed the rest of your cruise.

We're on an 8 day cruise with Carnival right now. We were in Cozumel yesterday. I recommend going to Mr Sancho's. We always book our excursions through Carnival because no matter what, you will never be left behind even if the excursion is running late getting back. I don't know who MSC is; never heard of it. I'm sorry that happened to you. Glad you're family is safe. Go with Carnival next time. Happy and safe travels. ❤️⚓

Wow, I don't think I ever want to cruise MSC! Terrible customer service. I have only cruised Disney so far but I was under the impression that you should always bring your passport with you, in case something happens when you're off the ship , or maybe you miss getting back on or something. I wouldn't want to be in any foreign country without mine, even for a short period of time. I have had to show it to get back on the ship at some ports. Terrible management on MSC's part though. Anyway, love your videos and following your adventures.

As a seasoned traveler, including 30+ cruises, I’d recommend everyone take their passport when in a foreign country. If you get stuck (NCL Escape passengers), you’ll need it to fly home or to the next cruise stop. At the very least carry a copy. But, I’m glad I stumbled upon your post for this matter. I was considering an MSC cruise but I think I’ll stay with Royal. Very good video !

OMG!! I can't believe the shore excursion just left without you guys. I have heard of the ship leaving port when people don't respect the back on board time, but I have never heard of an excursion leaving passengers at the port. Definitely I can see this being another epic fail on MSC. Two strikes MSC....two strikes. Just unbelievable!! Sorry you guys had to deal with this disorganization.

Man, I woulda be TRIPPIN! Good on ya'll for staying calm, cool, and collected. Also, passports aren't even a necessity for cruising.....well, at least any cruise I've been on leaving and coming back to same port (even though I KNOW I really need to get one just in case) sounds like miscommunication and ew, hard no from me.. I'd be soo mad if I had to take time out of my day for like 3 or 4 days trying to resolve something that could and very well should have been an easy money back asap ordeal.

Really should have a passport when cruising no matter where. If something happens and you have to emergency port somewhere for any reason, you will appreciate having a passport. Always better to be prepared

I was in Cozumel 2 weeks ago and I was asked for my passport randomly in a shop. So, i always take it off the ship in case of emergency.

A passport in a shop? I've never been asked for my passport when we port in Mexico and I wouldn't show my passport to anyone who wasn't in an official capacity.

This is not the first time from Cozumel that it was stated that passports were needed. While on a Carnival cruise we were told, over the loud speaker, that passports were needed when getting off the ship. Of all the numerous times we had been to Cozumel, we NEVER needed passports. Well, we had them, but never needed them - no one ever asked for them in Cozumel, getting on or off the ship. I think this is something that is a miscommunication between the port master, Cozumel and cruise lines. I am so sorry this happened to you family, and hope it never does again. Nobody needs this stress, and to dissapoint the kid's, see that's why

I totally agree never seen that you need a passport, if so they would make an announcement sorry about that terrible situation. Cruisers don't be terrified this usually doesn't happen on most other cruise lines. They have to work on their customer service. Good customer service usually make the supporters satisfied. MSC you need to make it right to Rich and Jazz along with their family. I want to try MSC I normally cruise with another line. Make Rich and Jazz whole

We love your positive thoughts as you describe the "hiccup" from the manager of that ship. I hope MSC is paying attention. We have been on 57 cruises, but never MSC. We've read about many negative interactions with that cruise line. We are excited to have found and subscribed to your channel, and we also hope that you and your beautiful family will have many happy times with your future cruises!

My wife and I were scheduled to cruise on MSC, but the pandemic hit. We were having a bad feeling about going with them, and was low key glad the cruise was canceled.

Sorry this has happened to you! I have literally booked the same excursion for April. Were you able to pick and choose your excursion or could you only go on the ones for "everyone"? Only asking because my kids ate 9 and 11 and will not be vaccinated.

This was the best fit because our girls could not do the other excursions due to age. Even this one was not great because they cannot snorkel. We had to choose the ones that were for “everyone” 😩

On a side note, this is why I always carry the passport “card” in my wallet 24/7. I leave my passport booklet back in the hotel/cabin. I’ve always heard the craziest things about MSC, I don’t trust them yet to try it out

I would never go on a MSC cruise because all the folks I know who cruised with them had many, many issues. My gosh, we got back very late from a Celebrity cruise sponsored tour because the bus broke down going to the excursion and we had to wait for another bus (needless to say our excursion time was cut short)and we received A FULL REFUND without our even complaining. We were notified when we returned from the excursion that they were so sorry for the inconvenience and would refund us. On a Princess cruise we were left by the excursion because there where 4 cruise ships in port and all the excursions were kinda jammed up at the port. It was really hard to tell which was which even though the excursion folks had signs up (too many people milling about). When we went back to the ship they didn't even argue we received our money back as there were no other excursions we could take that day. Customer service seems to have fallen by the wayside on some of these cruiselines.
