@jessetucker18542 жыл бұрын
This will be a long one. My wife and I just blasted through the first two episodes, and we're both blown away by Keeso's talent at using ticks and mannerisms to utterly wipe the slate clean of Wayne's presence. She was a little confused about why she was still getting "Wayne vibes " though despite it being a very different character, which made me think about it for a few seconds. And then a few more. And down the rabbit hole I went. There is almost something mythological about the way these two are contrasted. They manifest a duality that would have been all the more potent in a small town, two sides of a coin that couldn't be more of a mirror image of each other, and yet are both warriors and champions that others naturally gravitate towards. One is a monolith of order. Every thing has a place, every tradition is revered, and every Sunday is for picking stones. With rare exception every foe is merely an opponent, and only until they are knocked down. He shakes his head at the foolishness of others while privately delighting in the antics of Jackass, and while women covet the man behind the mask-like facade presented like a clenched fist atop a neck - Some ultimately become simply bored by the sheer wholesome, solid ( or more harshly, stolid ) dependability of the man. He is looked up to as a pillar of the community, and as someone who everyone would go to war with, because he would go with every one of them. The other is seemingly a whirlwind of chaos. A man that cries at everything and and who utterly hates to lose. Every man who could be against him is to be knocked down relentlessly, verbally and physically. He is a foodie with deep knowledge of Broadway musicals, who's incrediblely harsh honesty is offset by his engaging roguish charm when he isn't instinctively chirping. He cares little for younger women and because of this tends to infuriate them. Men follow him because iron sharpens iron, and anyone that can withstand his personality find themselves growing for it - and because if you are not following him you are in front of him, with all the risks that bears. The proverbial sheriff and the bandit king. One admired by all even if they want to hate him, the other a man all too easy to hate even as they try to not admire him. Both complex and richly layered characters that stand apart and yet can best be appreciated by contrasting against the other.

I’m sold. Jared is brilliant. Keep the good (and really truly wholesome) stuff coming.

I love that this seems to be a different kind of comedy than Letterkenny. I was really worried that they'd just go for a whole show of Shoresy chirps from Letterkenny, and it would get tired really fast.

I was unsure about about a whole show of Shoresie because I thought it would just be shitting and chirping nonstop like Letterkenny, but this has me legit excited for it. You made him interesting, and... wholesome? wtf? Jared Keeso is a genius.
