Back at Cut and Grind. Today, Jason Ecks takes us step by step on how to shape a short, tight beard. Similar to maintaining your cheek and neck line, you're going to want to keep a natural shape.
Jason does this by using a flicking motion beneath the beard with his trimmers. Using a long trimmer guard, he pushed the trimmers down the face to take some bulk off of the cheek area. Like always, use your beard comb as a ruler to make sure you don't accidentally cut too deep into the hair.

How you doing ... just a suggesting could u pass it on to Carlos and the cut n grind crew .... maybe sometimes live streaming while cutting ... there's actually a small number of barbers primarily in USA who streams this sort of stuff... Brilliant. I just trimmed my beard for the first time ever and I used the comb technique on the neckline and sideburns and it turned out amazing. Thank you Beardbrand. Now I don't need to look for a good barber for a trim any time soon.

I wish there were more barbers like you around here. I live in an area where a if you ask for a slight line up of the mustach and cheeks, the shave off nearly the entire top edge of the mustache, and do a lazer straight line way too far into the cheeks... now i'll have awkward stubble trying to get my shape back..

i had my short beard trimmed by a barber for the first time today. he took the sides and underneath to the same length and then the goatee area slightly shorter than the rest. it's kind of the opposite of what i normally do. is this standard?

just a bit of critisicim there, almost at the end of the video you see the barber using his comb to push Up some bulks so in my opinion trim was still requiere in that section of the beard, also didn't see any shave at all, but overall was pretty decent !

Dhruv Gupta well in India around 50 bucks ( I'm guessing that's how much you pay) is more than enough for a good beard trim, our barbers don't want to improve the quality of service they provide

It totally depends on the look you're trying to achieve. At about 2 months of growth, you probably won't want to take much more that about 1/4 inch off. That's if you want to shape it pretty drastically. Even less than that if you are going for length. -Parker

nick butler I do same, I let mine grow out but trim it lightly. I always trim my mustache down a little to stop it from going into my mouth other than that I let it grow freely.

Ryan T. usually the sides and the back are way shorter than the top next time you go to a barber just ask for a short trim on top and like a 3 on the sides but you should look into it more
