Fantastic work, sir! $1200 bucks and your own labor? That's awesome. Gives me a good idea as to how to build my own. Thanks!

Yeah my own labour. Most time consuming part was building the cabinets and not having a break press. But it’s where I saved the most money .

What kind of pipe stands are you using where theyre elongated, for you to drive under it?

I just used length of pipe instead of sleeve it came with for extra height. You can buy pipe stand extensions though. I know Javelin makes them. These stands I think are GRB.

What’re the demensions and thickness of materials for the end gate?
@Markyusishen2 жыл бұрын
3/16” plate for the top. 1-1/2” x 1-1/2” x 1/8” HSS for thr rest of it. It’s kinda heavy. Tempted on switching it out for all aluminum and just have it hinged to the carbon steel. It was cheap to build then and I didn’t have the ability to weld the aluminum when I first built the skid
@cab81883 жыл бұрын
Nice work, where does your acetylene tank mount?
@Markyusishen3 жыл бұрын
I have a piece of 6” channel welded on from the frame of the skid up the back side of the drivers side cabinet with some links from a chain welded on. Right up tight near the welding machine. Top of the bottle is the height of the cabinet when it’s in the truck. I just use two 1” ratchet straps to hold it in.

@Markyusishen3 жыл бұрын
Worked better for me at this time. Don’t have space to store my box once I take it off. Or means to lift a heavy deck from my garage on to my truck. This was cheap. Easily removable with pipestands if I want my box back if I’m not working. And I’ve never been a fan of short box single wheel decks. I 100% agree with you decks are way better to store tools and work off. When the time comes and I get another truck I’ll be getting a long box dually and I’ll do a deck for it.
@adamw.64883 жыл бұрын
Isn't a shitty tub skid tho. These actually can hold a lot of shit in comparison. A large majority of rigs in Canada are this way. We carry a lot more things than a pipeline style tub would hold.
