Hello my friend..living life in the beauty of what God gave us is a true blessing aye. Stunning place and that lake looked incredible..I love hearing kids and their family's out it really is a blessed tune on one's ears. When I'm out walking be it a train or at the lake or at the nearby beach I love seeing all the people out. It makes me so happy just seeing others having a good time enjoying the weather and nature. You can't put a price on this. Crazy you have to pay though to enter, I don't know of any reserve or bush trails any nature activities in New Zealand where they make you pay them money to enjoy it. The way I see it is it's a gift by the creator for us all,. I do hate seeing people's rubbish though I don't understand how they just don't care about the environment. Much love mate thank you for an amazing little trek and incredible views. Also your advice is so much better then I'd have. I get turned around so easy and go of trial exploring then get turned around some more and spend the next hour getting back to the track 😂

You are so right! It is a blessing indeed! I consider it a blessing to live near the lake. I've been there many times over the years. I love hearing families with their children out enjoying nature too. It doesn't bother me, but rather am glad they're out enjoying themselves and making lifetime memories. You're right, you can't put a price on that. The fee for park passes got started in the '90's. The U.S. Forestry Service was the first one to have it as a pilot program. Georgia state parks soon followed as did many other recreational areas. I see public land the same way you do, and in the U.S. that was how it was intended. Also, in my opinion, it fits the definition of a consumption tax and since it is also funded by tax dollars, that makes it double taxation which is prohibited by the Constitution. Aside from that, paying to enjoy nature is crazy to me and also cuts out low income people from enjoying what is supposed to be their land. Much love to you too my friend! Thank you for watching and commenting!

@AmericanExplorer +wow that is crazy my friend, it's sad to that it's become more a money making scheme for these departments then a gift for all to enjoy. It's as bad as some of your states making you pay for literal Rain water that's from the sky that would never happen in New Zealand. Literally myself the dude and all us at our proper plus thousands of others in New Zealand rely on the rain for water. It's sad when Governments think they can literally take all your rights away down to even the most basic of necessities in life, like water. Here you'll also see community gardens that people can freely take fruit and veges from mostly for free or a koha which is a small donation that helps it keep going.

The swimming is good there. The park has its own swimming area that has a good sized bathhouse. At the time I was making this video, we were having unseasonably cool weather here. It was in the low 80's and lows in the 60's to even upper 50's with low humidity for the first half of June. It's now at more seasonal levels with highs in the 90's. Thank you very much for watching! It's always good to hear from you!
