When my friend's mare went blind, she had a companion, and what we did was put a bell on the companions' halter. The blind mare learned to follow the sound and it seemed to help her be less afraid.

Many times, death is the most humane thing to do. Especially with the filly with the broken back leg, and the horse with the severely rotated hoof bone. You have to consider long term pain. Living in constant pain, or be in a pain free forever rest..

That twin foal should of been given the last act of kindness by her owners after she was born because that back leg is broken by the other twin foal and nothing can be done for this young horse and she looks like she is in pain with that back leg and the last act of kindness is the best thing for that twin and that is what her ex owners should of done when they seen how this uoung horse was born and i am sorry this young horse has to go through what she did at her age

What can help with LuLu, actually any blind horse, is a fairy bell and treats when she follows the bell. She will feel safe faster and know what is expected of her!🥰

God bless those people that donated the round bales. Such a generous act that eases the hay strain for you guys over the year. The sound of that truck heading up the hill with a full load was awesome! Poor, poor Pipsqueak. I'm sure you will do all you can to make these days comfortable for her while the best course of action is decided. If that means a journey over the rainbow bridge for this poor girl then it will be an act of kindness. What a cracking little pony Simon is! He will give so much fun and happiness to a little one and I hope he finds a forever home soon. I agree that training Lulu to associate good things with the sound of a bell would really improve her trust. I'm keeping Bobby and Janice in my prayers and hope Bobby is getting stronger by the day. Well, I backed the video up and watched what I missed, which was most of it. Pipsqueak... omg. I'd best not say anything, because if I do, I'll go off. Gritting my teeth. Simon is a super little pony. Any kid would be lucky to have him. He's clearly had plenty of experience. He's steady and he thinks about where he's putting his feet. ❤ The snakes eat the rodents. If they're non venomous please don't hurt them. They're harmless to you and your animals.

If you pile the bales on top of each other tightly together you will have less waste. Only the top that gets wet and the bottom that is on the ground, and you will use less space. Just a thought.

I didn't catch....did you have to pay anything for these round balers other than the equipment and labor? I love watching all the REAL men that help with things like this, and your husband is so talented with so many things, I just men that can DO STUFF! Reminds me of my own Dad, and some of the boyfriends I had, builder, mechanics, truck drivers and heavy equipment operators, and "McGivers" ,we need more young men to realize that college ain't all its cracked up to me, and that manual labor and becoming a good tradesmen is very essential for a lot of things, and just a tip to the young guys....us girls and ladies love real men and we have lots of ways to show it, like being great cooks, great mothers, good home makers all around and more.!!!!

yep I found a snake in my roundbale in Western Australia, it was dead and smelly, must have been picked up during baling, but not died straightaway I think, so dangerous for the horses. Glad it is not a round bale I put out first but left it for a few months. Poor squeely hope it is a birth defect and not all injury related with loads of pain

I am upset when a horse is blind they send them to the sale barn because the ex owners think that a blind horses are useless but that is not the case because a blind horses do not shy when something that the horse that can see if they don't like what they see and if the horses are broken in properly the blind horses are still useful and they can be still ridden all the riders have to talk to them when they want them to step up gutter in the ground and that is all you hgave have to do

I think that is part of the reason they've had her in with Molly. Horses are generally herd animals, and they like having companions whether they can see or not. It will take time for Lulu to adjust to her new environment (smells and sounds) and I'm sure the Pony Tales team are doing what they can to help her adjust, like bringing her up to the catch pens that are closer to the barn.

She is not completely blind. George on the other hand is completely blind (no eyes at all), and will bump into things. Eventually most of them figure it out.

G’day my happy gecko, I have enabled the repairing remodelling of thin weak soles and hoof wall with good feeding regimen and lots of mixed minerals,1 level teaspoon per feed 2X daily =( Seaweed meal, copper sulphate, sulphur, Dolomite, Magnesium oxide, diatomaceous earth, B complex, egg shells, bi carb soda, psyllium husk )mixed Celtic, Sea, and Epsom salts, apple cider vinegar, sunflower oil, Garlic and ginger… Yes it costs $ but now have a horse with terrific feet, and strong body.. That is something we try to work on with all of the horses! Sometimes they leave too quick or even have other more important things to work on first! We always let people know if we are unsure of how they load. If they choose to still adopt, that is their decision :)

I don't get it with Pipsqueak, how the owners could not see that there was something drastically wrong with her lower leg and foot to look like that! Is she is the only surviving twin, what condition was the other one in and how old is she? Is this a case of what they call backyard breeding gone wrong as it usually is? Is this a birth defect and if so, why the hell would you allow this horse to suffer for years like that? *shaking head* I seriously just can't wrap my head around how people could let animals suffer like this and sleep at night!! If you can't afford the pet, don't get it!!!

Q. Since it is impossible to see what Dr Dave (?) is pointing at when looking at X-Rays, would you be able to go into your settings and make the pointer a larger size and perhaps even make it a colour which shows up better on screen? It is doubly hard as he is sometimes difficult to hear when leaning over the computer (apart from the word "basically", which he loves!), but I hear him say "...if you look here...." and have no idea at all what he is pointing out, or saying. Thanks. Q. Have you considered each person filming to introduce themselves? It is easy to lose track of who is who sometimes. They seemed to have a fun ride, cute/useful pony. Nice we can see them on a ride, not just leave and return like we used to see. Would it be possible for Heart's rider (?) to turn her head a wee bit slower with the go pro? Perhaps if she watches some of her footage, she will see how vertigo inducing it is?! Those hay bales looked like Cousin It!! Nice donation.

@@mlwtennessee322 You tend to get better at something when you receive constructive feedback. It's not meant as mean criticism or being picky and demanding. Especially in this day and in the subject of internet and videography, you have to compete against some pretty talented giants, and you won't gain more viewers (who may also donate, mind you) unless you listen to your audience and strive to do better. It's the same even if it is a burger restaurant. There are those big names that already have a large customer base, and if you just keep doing what you do, and turn away the customers that complain or try to offer you some suggestions for improvement, you will go out of business soon enough. Or at least you aren't growing. And in this case, it's more horses that could be helped if this charity grew in size and had an ever growing viewer base. So some humility and a listening ear towards the audience is gonna be very helpful here. :)

I can't understand why you are not giving Pipsqueak the last act of kindness. Having been sponsored by HPHS you know their ethos of not letting animals suffer any longer than necessary. Pipsqueak cannot be fixed, so why are you draging her on and off of a trailer unecessarily and allowing her to suffer. Your vet should have put her out of her missery instead of sending her back to the shelter.

Ummm....Pipsqueak had only just got here and had not even yet been seen by our vet in this video. She was loaded onto the trailer from where we picked her up at and unloaded at the shelter. No other trailer trips. Where are you even getting that from?? You are making assumptions with zero knowledge. You can see yourself out the door as well if you don't like it here.
