Thank you for explaining it, I knew this option when I bought the airplane and thought it would be cool to be able to land on the short fields. Turns out I am making my life harder because I notice the aircraft is hard to slow down, and I never actually flew to a small airport that required this package😁

Well, that is slightly uneventful :D For some reason I assumed it was a far more drastic change, like actual elements being different in the wings and body, and I assumed it would have improved handling in low speeds while having more drag or less performance in higher speeds... Guess it's not the case. I wonder why this can't be a software enabled feature in the 737s, making the SFP versions be able to handle like normal ones if wanted by changing a setting

Great video. You said not modeled in the sim. Did you mean just the fmc entry is missing, or the flight model changes for the sfp package are missing?

I spoke to one of the engineers at your company but he said your SFP planes don't have all of the advertised SFP features which I found weird. Did he misinterpret my question? This was over a year ago and unfortunately I can't ask again.

I wouldn't be surprised. The Boeing presentation on it was quite a bit longer and listed more features than our handout. Even though it would not surprise me either if they simply cut the handout together to what really mattered.

I haven't been using the short field option because I don't know if the airlines I simulate use that option or not. I simulate Southwest and Delta.

The skins in PMDG ops center that say verified have the correct equipment.

Just confirmed southwest uses short field performance package on the 800s but not the 700s.

Hi Mark, sorry for the late answer. We can not simply say minimum lengh overall because it will of course depend on conditions and takeoffweight. On 1700m runways with the short field performance kit you should be fine in most cases and medium weights. At low weights some operators even fly it into 1400m runways.
