Short Milk and Fruit Van Train on the MSWJR Line 1923

One of the characteristic features of the consolidation in 1923 of the many independent railway companies into the enlarged GWR and the newly formed
Southern, London Midland & Scottish and London & North Easter Railways was
the persistence of the often colourful and occasionally ornate liveries of the old
companies throughout much of the 1920s.
This tendency is a particular feature of the short milk and fruit van train that we
show running on our MSWJR route in the Vale Scene and in which much of the
formation comprises typically elderly vans in the colours of the “old companies”.

i would love to scratch build a 2-4-0, probably one of the last GW 'Barnums'...they lasted quite a while. I would have to fill it with lead to get it to pull anything.

I like this "bit sized" presentation and found the content interesting. I am particularly interested in Southern Railway (and also GWR). This mixture of SR and their inherited stock is historically interesting.

I remember their offices at the old Swindon Town station. It was a line much used during the last German war, as one could tell by the cheap fletton brick signalboxes.
