I commonly talk to people who build Sprinter Camper Van conversions that have $50k-$80k invested in their rigs. I always try to convince people to consider the mini school bus conversion over a van. This video is a good example of why I think this. Enjoy!

I'm planning on converting a box truck. I desperately want a tub in it, so I'm putting my twin bed on sliding rails. It will rest on a frame just above the tub and raise to the ceiling when I want to shower.

Great idea on using the couch cushions as installation I've seen a lot of videos I've done takes in my own mind about what I would do if... And you're a freakin genius! And its patio fabric! And your stove cover/table!!!! A genius, I say! And then I am shaken from my awe when I hear you say "...a blackout curtain that I project onto..." . OMG, you have solved so many problems for me with those 2 things...let's see how many more things you come up with...

Really well thought out. From the choice of a short bus to the placement of a go cupboard above the exit. Everything I'd want in a build except for the lack of solar.

Yeah I like the bill but I agree with you about him not having solar. I think him having solar added into his build will probably make it 10 times better than what it is but if he's happy right now it's all good

Hands down I would live in this bus, love the bed idea, pillow idea, shower, frig, back door, the whole rig is awesome. Get a dog bath nozzle attachment for your sink. Great job. Inspiring.

Hell yeah i could live in this full time. Its awesome. The bath is wee bit tiny but i never take long showers. The oven did it for me and the murphy bed. Quite a nice little home

Huh. I'd leave the oven out for a bigger shower. But use the stairwell. It's right there. Lol. unused. My oven in my real house has been out for years. I just borrow one if needed. Lol

Wow another great video Chris. Most school buses leave me intimidated as far as the potential repair and maintenance cost. I like the fact that any decent mechanic in America can work on this bus. The build was thoughtfully planned out and I loved the fact the bus was neat, clean and organized. Kiddos to the owner!

For a few years now I've thought one of these small bus conversions would be perfect for an older(67) single guy like me. Was thinking I'd want the same features this bus has, but this guy's design goes beyond what I imagined it could look like. Love the layout, storage, Murphy bed and appliances, colors & decor. Free access to back door is good safety feature. I'd get by with a composting toilet, just taking sponge baths, or showers in campgrounds/truck stops. This unit would be perfect for me, with or without solar! Great build!

@@debbiblakeslee2373, Yes, lots of vehicle options depending on personal desires/needs. Just wondering though! If a vehicle was previously registered as a commercial vehicle, like a box truck, could it be re-registered as a recreational vehicle? I suppose it depends on each state's vehicle or transportation laws. I've never heard anyone address this subject. Anyone care to reply? Thanks!

I love the whole setup, you did awesome!!!! I love the Murphy bed, it gives you so much more room and you get to sleep on a comfortable bed!!! And you've got a toilet and a shower! Even though the shower is small it does what it's supposed to do and that's get you clean.

Wow! By far this one of the best Skoolie that I have ever seen. Firstly I like the Murphy bed so handy. The counter kitchen is very spacious. But I wish he had a flushing toilet otherwise the composing toilet is fine. I could live in there with my Chiquita, a chihuahua. Very homey and comfortable. God bless this young man. Love your bus and your maps (former school teacher here)! Thinking ahead, I’m 62 and in decent health but with bad osteoarthritis. I am very mobile now and I hike but there may come a day I’m not so mobile. I’d love to find a short Skoolie with a handicap lift on the side. I’ve already lost a lot of strength in my hands and arms so it would help me lift heavy objects in (cases of drinks or water jugs) which I could then drag across to where I store them. I would want either a stationary bed crossways across the back with some garage under or a slightly wider version of your sofa. I’m small and petite and can sleep fine on a 30” wide bed. Great video!

Did I miss him saying the cost of this build? 8k is an incredible value, especially with the low miles.... Obviously he had help from his awesome dad... But this may be the direction I'll end up going because it's more affordable and much larger footprint than the sprinters! Any thoughts on insulating a vehicle if this type?

LOL 5 - 8k? Thats a crazy amount too! I'm aiming to spend no more than 2 - 3 for my short bus conversion. I found a short bus for $1500. The rest will be in insurance, registration, installation, fan, heater, solar, water filter and the rest free stuff off of craigslist. I already have a fridge. I have a toaster oven that can bake stuff, and bed. I am doing all the work myself. If people want to donate their time and things, I'm open to it. I plan to document the entire process. I was going to convert a van but I need space to move.

@@janina8559 There are people who did it for less. I'm not sure what you mean by I'm nothing but a dreamer. I don't know the song so don't get it. I'm representing the average American. Spending money on unnecessary luxury is not what we do. Solar would be great but not necessary. I'm okay with parking at a hotspot until I have the extra means to afford solar panels. I'm doing all the work myself. Nor do I have a brother-in-law who happens to be a engineer or someone with a shop full of tools. lol

The removable propane-fired on-demand water heater is genius. You don't have to put a hole through your roof or wall for an exhaust vent and you made it super quick to setup. Brilliant!

This is a wonderful conversion. I love the murphy bed. You have managed to get quite a lot of storage in this bus and lots of counter space for food prep. I love the pull out desk and how you multi-purpose the cover over the range to a dining table.
