So true. My PHILIPS has four USBs that pass through a USBC to my laptop, and I have two occupied by a webcam and a speaker. I use the other two for connecting to debugging tools for microcontrollers and usually I keep them occupied with a type-C cable for newer boards and my phone, a type-B cable for older boards and my DSLR camera. When something uses a micro-B, I would rather unplug my USB speaker and use its cable than unplug anything from the monitor because it's such a nightmare. I like how this monitor has the two USB ports down there so it's way easier to reach.

I have the older AW2721D, and it's glorious. For the older one, you must use non-gaming mode with the slowest response time setting of "Fast" to keep the image crisp and not overdrive/overshoot. I suspect you using the middle setting is why you're seeing the overdrive issues. Response time should still be decent with the lowest setting.

Isnt it just a Dell S2721DGF with RGB, a childish design, overclocked panel and 300$ extra charge?
@lucun_
@lucun_ Жыл бұрын
@@friedrich1277 The S2721DGF is not the same panel as the AW2721D based on everything on Rtings. The RGB subpixels are even shaped differently. Compared to the AW2721D, the S2721DGF does not support HDR, has lower brightness, worse viewing angles, and doesn't have a G-Sync module. Not sure if you can OC the S2721DGF to 240hz, but it is missing a whole lot of hz, which makes it cheaper. Based on the features, the AW2723DF seems more like a AW2721D panel without G-Sync Ultimate.

I use portrait mode every single day because I use it to read comics, articles and stuff. So you get so much more of the page on one screen. Its nice being able to rotate it easily. Although I do have a vesa mount so it doesn't really matter to me if the stand is capable of it.
@MotoCat91
@MotoCat91 Жыл бұрын
Portrait capable stands (especially both directions) are amazing to have even if you intend to use it landscape, as: a) they tend to be quite sturdy, well built and can be adjusted for if the surface isn't totally flat.. and b) it is infinitely easier to access the plugs on the back in portrait.. No need to shove your face under the screen to try and see which plug goes where followed by stabbing blindly and hoping you get the right one

The point of the video was not that vertical is not useful but that this specific monitor with high refresh is probably too expensive to use as a (secondary) vertical monitor. There are plenty other options that have less features but that are a lot cheaper and might be a better bang for buck as a vertical monitor.

3:20 The click it amd pull out screen is the way samsung recommends it for every single monitor I bought. The 24 inch gaming monitor and the M5 32 inch did the same thing just with different stand design for obvious weight differences. For any other screen I strongly recommend doing it as close to this as possible. Leave it in the foam and protective sleave in the box and take the BACK foam off and install whatever stand you decide to rock. For wall mount its the same but the plate needs to attach to the wall bracket or arm. Leave MORE cable for adjustment on any PC peripheral not just screens. I had to rip my setup appart because of short cables and it wasnt FUN. Happy building gamers!

I tried this out as a replacement to my AW 360Hz 1080p Monitor (from 2020), but ended up returning it and staying with the 360Hz. On extreme response time this 1440p monitor has 3x the inverse ghosting as the 360hz. Really makes a difference if all you plan to play is FPS games, so for stuff like VALORANT I'd pass on this one. For almost every other game though, the 1440p 280hz beats out last gen's 360hz.

Second note, because I can't tell based on the resolution I watch at if you're playing Halo: Infinite but the motion blur you see is called object motion blur and you cant turn it off. There are games where they have this weird basic (admittedly what motion blur SHOULD HAVE BEEN) semi-decent implementation that you can't turn off most of the time even if actual motion blue and post processing is off.

I have the older version of this monitor. I don't care about the way it looks but the thing that grinds my gears is it working with windows to install the disease of Alienware Control Center. The fact that I have to go deep into windows just to click f off with the automatic updates for things like this is insane.

There'd have to be some kinda miracle for QD-OLED 1080p screens to ever be manufactured to any degree. Drawing pads aren't offering a lot of options for even QLED. In fact that detail is left pretty vague on a lot of products. Not that it matters for me specifically cause I found the only drawing pad in the world that supports full fat HDMI/Displayport TOGETHER (Kamvas 24 Pro 2.5K), I'll accept that as it is QLED or not.

I understand this is for the hard-core gamers, but I got a gigabyte m32qc on Newegg for $200. 32 inch 1440p 170hz curved monitor, and don't let people tell you a VA panel is bad. For content watching if your up close it's not crazy good but for gaming it's so good. I get no ghosting and none of the Ips glow that I had before. Plus my Ips panel before I could never get bright enough, with my VA panel that's not the case.. in some cases it's a bit to bright. All I'm really getting at is you don't always need a $600 monitor to have a great experience. Love the videos though!!

Good things are good, of course. But "in my day" we played Quake, Doom 1&2, Wolfenshtain 3d, .... on 14 inch electron tube monitors. We reduced the active part to 10 cm in diameter so that we could play on the first 486. And everything was great. Queues took several hours to be able to play like that.
