@@jayleno2192 I definitely considered it, it can work for many. I wanted not only a mechanical switch numpad, but also one that can keep moving with my keyboard (so that when I move around, I don't have to move it). I have the keyboard in fact I'm typing this on it in tkl mode but no the numpad is not wireless

"this is stiff" sure, I see the thing twisting like a noodle with my bare eyes, this thing is not stiff, it's a cheap piece of crap, just like the first claymore. The numpad didn't connect half the time and the software is comically bad. Videos about a product, sponsored by the manufacturer of said product can't be trusted, simple as that.

I want more keyboard like this! With modules to add touchpad or other macros (maybe a cheaper option without wireless too)!

There’s a few companies that do the whole left numpad/detachable. Epokmaker makes a left sided numpad kb and Mountain makes a kb with a detachable numpad with little lcd macro screens you could put images on it

The ASUS ROG Claymore series isn't exactly new. The original Claymore already had the ability to detach the numpad and allow the user to install it to both left and right side of the main keyboard.

More affordable and customizable option: RK84 + wireless numpad. Shouldn't cost more than $110.

I’d like to see this numb pad idea used for laptops. I don’t like numb pads on laptops - I hate having my hands off centre from the screen when typing - but I like having a numb pad while working. Adding a numb pad to the side of a laptop when needed would be great for me ergonomically.

Debounce doesn't have to do with upstroke, btw. It also doesn't have anything to do with hysteresis. Debounce is to do with metal contact leaves on traditional mechanical switches. Because they're thin metal, when they come into contact, they vibrate and produce lots of micro-bounces that could be read as multiple keypresses, even if you only actuated once. Debouncing is a delay programmed into a keyboard where it won't read any additional actuations for a very short while, based on an estimate of how much time it takes for the contacts to stop vibrating or bouncing against each other. This way, the keyboard will only read one input from each keypress. Keyboard manufacturers try to minimize this delay to as close as possible to when exactly the bounce stops, to avoid any performance detriment. But usage over time can cause slight changes to the contact leaf behavior, so the tighter the debounce delay is, the sooner it may happen that your keyboard gets the dreaded double inputs. Basically, optical switches have no metal contacts, so no bounce, so no debounce delay period between keystrokes.

"affordable"? how much do you expect the price to come down in 3 years? $50? even if they come down by $100, you're going to wait 3 years and not get something you want, for the sake of saving, what, 9 cents a day (if you do the math)? will you even be alive in 3 years? life's too short, seriously. i'd be just cutting down say 1 coffee a week and enjoy the keyboard today and those weekly savings would quickly make the keyboard "affordable"

Left numpad is also better in general, allows for more ergonomic usage of the mouse while navigating spreadsheets or filling out other datasets. Source: been on a wireless left hand numpad for two years and haven't looked back once.

Holy crap, I have never considered how useful it would be to have the numpad on the left...When I'm inputting data, or setting parameters on my video editing software I always have to take my hand off the mouse in order to use the numpad cos I don't like using the top row numbers. I need this to be standard guys.

I have a diy 65% keyboard based on the 68keys design and a custom made numpad with 2 extra keys and a rotary encoder with the same design. Both are running QMK and are completely independent of each other. I have my mouse in between the two, I think its the perfect setup. I also just ordered another 65% for work.

I've never understood why keyboard manufacturers still insist on putting macro and special keys on the right when the majority of people use their mouse with their right hand. Put it on my left so I can use my left hand for more than just typing normally so I don't have to take my hand off the mouse.
