Amazing mouse, but Razer really missed the mark on why the Viper Mini was so popular. The price point. The shape is pretty safe but not for everyone, but at such a cheap price and just a solid overall mouse, it was very hyped and recommended widely. Unfortunately, Razer saw this as a kind of push for the best of the best in a mouse, influenced by the hypebeast Finalmouse magnesium alloy mice, and perhaps innovation by the likes of G-Wolves' many ambitious strides. They made this. Magnesium is a metal that in time will evaporate on it own. And it is flammable it is what they make road flares out of. Now other metals rot away but not magnesium it goes to a gaseous state. So the metal part that craps the finish off the magnesium exposes the metal starting the evaporation. Now you can use clear finger nail polish to seal it back up and you should. And if you smoke keep it away from the mouse because that would be a really bad fire that your home fire extinguisher may not put out.

Are they hot swappable? -Scroll wheel: How's it feel? Optical or mechanical? What encoder? -Are the profiles stored in on-board memory on the device, or just stored in their windows crapware? The entire market has solved wireless responsiveness and reliability and have more than ample polling rates, yet it's all they scream about in their marketing still. Meanwhile, most mousewheel encoders become unusable after 2 years of daily use, and a lot of mouse switches develop issues over that time (especially logitech, who are rumoured to overvolt them to make them wear out faster. see "logitech doubleclick"). I really REALLY hope you guys start doing real testing when "the lab" is ready but honestly, a lot of this could have been tested or looked at during the shoot.

I've got the USB ports to make it work. 2.4GHz headphones and mouse using dedicated USBs and the 3rd one for charging while expresscard slot gets USB 3.0 device, which really does help as I'm receiving speeds of 110-150MB/s for my 1.81TB and 3.63TB Sandisk Extreme V1 and V2 SSDs, very serviceable for a laptop that only came with USB 2.0+eSATA (useless extension of a USB port).

The top end Razer gaming mice have been excellent for the last few years at minimum so I am not sure why this host seemed so apprehensive at the beginning about a new high end Razer mouse. He also mentions Magnesium Alloy being used & how he doesn't know how it would stand up over long periods of use but fails to mention that Razer took this design idea from the Finalmouse Starlight, as well as a few other things. The Viper Mini SE was released as a direct competitor to the Finalmouse Starlight, as can be seen just by viewing the two mice or comparing specifications, so I think some comparisons (or even acknowledging the Finalmouse that inspired the Viper Mini SE) would have been useful. Sometimes LTT channels hit the nail right on the head when they have people like Anthony host a video about retro game consoles or Linux, but why is this host reviewing high end gaming mice when he seems to have little knowledge about it? I'm sure he is knowledgeable on other topics, it seems like he was put in a bad spot here. This is a top end enthusiast product meant to compete with an existing enthusiast level product, I would have liked to have seen a enthusiast review it like we do for so many other types of products on LTT channels.

Because David is actually clueless about mice, plain and simple. Idk why they let him do this...

You think? Well, I sure hope that's the case because this review lacked a lot of important information about the mouse, that definitely could have fit into the video without even lengthening it. Is the profile on-board or stuck in windows? What switches does it use? How's the scroll wheel? etc.

@@narwhal4304I looked up some of his previous mouse reviews which only made me more confused. In this review he says " I don't know if there is that many devices that are magnesium alloy that come into contact with disgusting oily hands, it remains to be seen if finger grease will mess this bad boy up " Despite the fact that almost exactly 1 year ago he reviewed the Finalmouse Starlight 12 which is made out of the same material.... Did he forget that he has already used a mouse made out of this stuff?

Never understood why your mouse must be so lightweight. A bit of weight lets you be more accurate. Just get used to higher DPI settings and you dont need to have its to light as you dont have to move it so much.
@Bearnos Жыл бұрын
More weight=less accurate

Less weight = easier to move, stop, start, etc. high sens = less accurate. iron rank opinion ^

razer seems to be picking up their quality. i picked up their optical low profile keyboard. Its super amazing compared to the low profile from logi. Still gonna be rough to get away from this logi mouse tough with the charging mat i literally never have to plug this mouse in and its amazing. Almost thinking that mouse would be sick for shooters and have the regular one for everything else

I don't get the obsession with being light when we just went through a phase a while ago of putting weights in the Mice.

Less strain on your hands, faster movement for low sens/dpi fps players who likes to flick aim. This trend is set mostly by high level fps streamers and eSports athletes

An expensive product from Razer? What's new?
@thesmiffable Жыл бұрын
Did they put in a scroll wheel that actually works? Because hopefully they fixed it if money doesn't matter, since the £65 quid I paid or mine isn't enough for it to be functional

Knowing Razer quality as of late, the mouse has a lifespan of 367 days.

I have always liked razer tracking and mouse shape. They are larger mice and I much prefer the tracking to Logitech. The razer cords are waaay better as well, you don't even notice the razer cord where as other mice the cord feels like an anchor. And the scates feel smoother.

For this price you might as well buy Zaunkoenig M2K. It's 23g, carbon fiber and 8000hz polling rate. The grip may not be for everyone but it's the best you can buy currently.

If wer comparing at price point, the naga V2 pro is cheaper and has more functionality with only a slight drop in sensitivity but you get way more customisation. Granted its probably twice as heavy

@4:20(smokem) - It's not "honeycomb", it's SKELETONIZED. I don't know why the PC tech industry has such an issue with calling things the wrong thing just because someone started it that way - "open loop" and "closed loop" water cooling for examaple, they're ALL closed loop by any other definition of "open/closed loop"; closed loop means that you have a fixed fluid that you recirculate, open loop means you AREN'T recirculating a fixed fluid, that you're intaking and exhausting an 'outside' fluid, like how open loop cooling system boats scoop up river/lake/sea water, circulate it, then spit it back out, instead of having a self contained cooling system(there are closed loop cooling boats too). But, yea, that's gotta change, can cause some 'misunderstandings' if someone isn't just balls deep into custom PCs. Anyway, that industry annoyance aside... props to Razor for going for a "price no object" mouse(and not just a "it's really limited production and hand made; but otherwise it's a standard mouse), that's honestly kinda been something that's missing. Feature set is lacking some, and only a 3 year warranty is legit BS for $280(how about 5 years guys? $280 is a LOT of money, it better last me a number of years...); but, aside from that, it looks like an awesome first attempt. Frankly, I'd like to see an accompanying keyboard too, you have your expensive custom keyboards of course but lets see the major brands offer a $350-$400 keyboard with some crazy features that only they have the resources to pull off. Hopefully we get a more budget oriented version of this mouse with like a stamped aluminum chassis instead of this expensive magnesium piece(as bitchin as it is), get some good ol 'trickle down' development lol(even though we're supposed to pretend like that doesn't happen cuz dumb political nonsense... lol).

I have one. I recommend it to all small/medium hands users. It's a perfect mouse. The QC could be better though. I had to RMA mine and now I'm awaiting for the replacement - scroll started wobbling side to side, giving tick sound. It was really annoying.
