nearly every motherboard maker today (ASUS, MSI , Gigabyte, AsRock) offers great hardware - we're way past hardware being an issue (in most cases) the thing that makes or breaks the motherboard is its software support (quality of BIOS updates) - and most board makers SUCK at this aspect

This is what i have been saying for years, they are adding extra stuff to high end hardwares that people don't really care and no choices if you want that level of hardware, it's just added cost, for example rgb fans that comes with aio, mobo rgb and complicated chipset cooler etc

And you get great customer support with Asrock.🎉 You get low DPC latency, good VRM design, audio with DAC(amp), good intel ethernet chipset and many other features that other people overlook! In the past when I've went for cheaper motherboards or even cheaper brands (gigabyte) and I've always regret it. The load line calibration on Gigabyte for x370 and even x79 were non existant utter trash tier! Top tier is still EVGA, Asrock & Asus(bad customer support😂)

Also remember with modern wifi adapters, they also include bluetooth so if you use bluetooth audio having them closer can improve the signal. another issue is that the wifi antena's at the back of the motherboard can be in about the worst spot they could be for signal.

Love my ASRock B550 Steel Legend. Was the most well rounded board while also being the best price by a pretty substantial margin. No complaints after a few years now with a 3950x. Whenever I upgrade again I’ll probably go ASRock again.

Oh that 4K Mini-LED is just the kind of spec I've been waiting for these years. Hope it has no fatal flaws and I'd definitely upgrade to it. Then get the next gen GPU coming next year or so and I'll be set for another 3-5 years of gaming.

Always had bad luck with Asrock boards years ago especially with am3/+ so steered away from them since then. However I’ve heard they’ve gotten a lot better in their qc and some great reviews so I went with the z790 livemixer and it’s a great board. So many ports and options they achieve where other name brands tend to skimp out on so many ports. I love the edp option too for an internal monitor. I hope they continue this and improve even further on their kit.

Totally understandable. I must admit our boards were pretty poor for a while, even B450 wasn't great. Things got a lot better since X570. The LiveMixer you have would certainly be great, I'm using the B650 model.

@@goldfries The X370 Taichi was and is absolutely rock solid. I bought it the day it came out. Runs cool with an overclocked CPU, tons of sensors, screen to see error codes, tons of SATA, handles a lot of different memory including unbuffered ECC, BIOS options for all the AM4 CPUs and it's handled a lot of parts swaps. Engineers had a strong say in what goes into it and management let it happen so I'm incredibly thankful for that and pass this on if you can. :). Thank you also for the business class motherboards even if I don't use them it's great to know we have this option.

@@goldfries I’m happy with it so far. Was all I could afford at the time and being the first pc I’ve built since 2019 and coming from amd. I did research on asrock due to past issues as mentioned but I’m pleased they’re on track and building decent hardware. I paired it with 6200mhz ddr5 fury. Intel i5 13600k. Crucial p3 plus ssd. Unfortunately due to cost and all that I couldn’t put in a modern gpu so running a borrowed 1660 6gb but serves me well for playing the one game I play and a bit of blender and unreal. Not the greatest of specs but what sold me was all the ports and pcie5. Although nothing can use it. But is a nice to have along with the internal screen option. An option I’d love to see on more boards.

I certainly agree with preferring a wired LAN connection over WiFi. However, WiFi is also important in that Bluetooth typically comes bundled with it.

I went with an ASRock x570 Pro 4 when I built my PC. Still going just fine. It's also survived several power surges that killed the source of the surge (one Xbox Series controller with a shorted cable), but the PC has been fine.

lol, so as most figured from the get go, just buy the 7900XTX Taichi, buy a waterblock for it and load up the BIOS on it, all while spending less. Plus the Taichi has dual BIOS so you always go back to the original one with a single flip and you don't need to rely on their RGB software to configure RGB on it. All that, for less money. BTW, pretty much every board over $120 or so has a USB C port. Not sure why you'd point that out on boards costing waaaay more.

I feel like usually the steel legend is the better cheaper choice over the extreme. The extreme is usually a hunch more with some small specific improvement. Usually the layout is the same. It you don't need that one specific thing save the money.

ASRock has always had some real nice stuff. That mini cube got my interest peaked. When im ready to build even though i have a massive 2 foot deep 14.5 foot long computer desk (custom built by me) I also have my 43 inch4k tv multiple computer screens and a work shop type area for working on client computers. So having a small foot print build would be perfect for me and an all amd computer hell yeh max out internal m.2 ssds maybe a reg mass storage hdd if it has a sata connector on the board (nice 4 or 8 tb drive for storing my downloads) if not no biggy i have a nas i can use as well. That 8k screen has the 3d artist side of me drooling like a saint Bernard with a serious drool problem Me most of my 3d art stuff is made in 1080p don't really need any more but having all that space for 3d max and daz 3d floating tool windows oh heck yeh 4k render window + 1080p work spaces yep perfection!

1152 dimming zones in a 16 by 9 aspect ratio would be 48 x 24 or 36 x 32 More likely it is the first option which would make for slightly narrower than square dimming zones

I have the AM4 DeskMeet. I got it to put my old Ryzen 3 2200g into after I upgraded my gaming PC. I love it and temps are very cool. (Although I am using the IGPU) It has Linux Mint on it and is great for streaming. My gaming PC has an ASRock ab-350m HDV and an ASRock rx6650xt. They were all wicked cheap and look and work very well. I got ASRock because it was cheap and got good reviews. ASRock is making some amazing stuff these days and the AM5 DeskMeet is going to be amazing. I will have to fight the urge to buy one...

Yeah I just upgraded to the ASRock Z690 with Intel I9-1300K. I wish ASRock came out with none RGB a lot sooner

@@harmonbrentdm oh my I'm using that one too, hands down the most beautiful Taichi board ever. Really love that moving cogwheel at the VRM heatsink. Pretty sure it blew up the retail price but it's so beautiful.

I have the X570 Steel Legend, and I can't be happier, it is a very good board for a very good price (at least I thought so), my next MB will be a Asrock again.

a micro-ITX mobo with 4 ram slots is what I have been looking for for the past week. I just hope that a new mobo size standard comes out, a mix between mATX and micro-ITX. a mobo that is just a micro-ITX that can support an intel i9 13th gen worth of power and has 4 ram slots and have a case size that is around 24-26L ( be able to fit on top of almost every desk with room to spare (like the corsair 2000D)

@@HoloScope didn't even know there was a non-mini DTX, probably cuz there's only mini-DTX mobos by the big brands (mainly Asus). Googled it, seems like it extends ITX both ways, down and to the side, almost Micro-ATX sized.

As long as they still have the all-important Gen 5 SSDs (that are too big and too hot) and the PCIe Gen 5 (for GPUs that don't exist yet).

MSI did a similar un-blinged version of their motherboards for a while, with the Unify series being the same as the Ace series, but without the RGB and "armour"
