Okay I walked into this unboxing expecting "Oh, it's a Mini with a vent on the front." The "Full ATX PSU" support knocked my socks off. As with the additional 3.5" sleds where the side mount used to be, and included fans for the price. It's going to be a bit chubbier than the already fairly chubby original Mini as a result though. But really, ATX PSU was THE #1 demanded feature from the original release, so I'm not surprised at all about the change. Honestly, you're giving me buyers' remorse for getting the original Mini! No joke agree about air cooling. I've built more than a few custom cases designed specifically with duct work to isolate and move the hot air as efficiently as I could manage. If you go as far as to plan for hardware and make tailor made ducting you can get really impressive numbers with low sound pollution. I've also built one where the case is basically just a massive radiator/heat pipe style heat sink with fans along to push flow (similar to the one featured recently). You can get solid results that route and even if a fan (that's nearly non existent rpm or sound wise) goes out you're not going to overheat on standard loads.

if you're using a consumer cpu like most folks (i.e. not threadripper or xeon), ALWAYS put the gpu in the first slot because it's the only slot that works at 16x. you don't need clearance between the cpu heatsink and gpu because the cpu heatsink blows front to back. while the airflow across the gpu backplate suffers, (which isn't great for a 3080/3090 with back side vram) it's the sacrifice you make if you use a big air cooler. I wish that nvidia hadn't resorted to a rear-side memory configuration, but the only ways around that are some kind of active back plate / liquid cooling situation. Personally i have a generic barrow liquid cooler on my 3090 gaming x trio and kept the stock backplate but modified it by adding a heatsink with thermal pads to it could more efficiently carry more heat away.

There is a large gap in pc cases that can fit an ATX motherboard, but can be placed horizontally in a living room and look decent. Corsair icue 220T is grazing that line, but is still quite bulky for the purpose. At the same time ATX mobo with a mini GPU has a fairly small footprint. The reason behind doing it is converting an older rig into a living room pc. Those who got a living room pc don't go back)

It is sad the case companies have to save a nickel by eliminating the 1 head/mic jack.

I don't think graphics card not fitting in their is necessarily a graphics card problem. I have a Noctua D15 in my computer and I had to buy a pcie extender to fit my graphics card because I bought a smaller motherboard (it was cheaper and in retrospect I should have bought a proper sized one, but your are smarter afterwards)

I like this approach to case unboxings. Since ShortCircuit isn't for full reviews, doing dummy/test fit build seems like the perfect compromise.

It may not be very tall or wide, but due to the depth it's still a pretty big case tbh
