Personally, I think it's very respectable that Lian Li decided on this recall. It's a good sign they care so much for their products that they do this, and that too makes it easier to recommend their products.

I purchased the case just recently and yes they mix the old panels with new. I got all updated mesh panel aside from the front panel with old mesh holes design. Already informed lian li and waiting for their reply. Rule of thumb, if the spaces between holes can still fit another hole, it's definitely the old mesh design. Another indication is if you can't clearly see your components on the other side of the mesh, it's most probably old design.

I bought this case before I found out dimitri's review about the panel and soon contacted Lian Li afterwards; they were so open and ready to ship the revised panels (front, top, side) to my country. So happy now that the case perform very well in terms of airflow. Huge respect for Lian Li.

I bought this case as soon as it was available. Was gonna buy it even with the original mesh, but was even happier about it when the mesh was re-done! I get 65 C max on both my Ryzen 5600X (overclocked to 4.6Ghz) and my PNY RTX 3070 (not OC'ed). I have the two front 140mm fans in their standard orientation, swapped the rear 120mm fan for a different RGB one from Thermaltake, and side-mounted a 240mm Cooler Master AIO with two Thermaltake RGB fans. Stays incredibly quiet as well, especially since my GPU doesn't ramp up the fan at all. Overall I am VERY happy and all the other features of the case are really nice. I have an mATX motherboard, but I'm glad that I can now upgrade to a normal ATX board.

These chunky little cases are sophisticated, they just sit on a desk and glow! It's very nice PC with their 3pc. UNI fans, Strimer's, and the optional GPU mount. I just had one delivered Wednesday, don't know if it's the smaller pitch version, but thanks for the video. 8000 cases is going to be a damn pile of covers to replace, I appreciate Lian Li's efforts they are a class act! ☺

Thanks for the update on this. Have a lot of Lian Li products and recently requested a warranty fix. I noted that while they are still innovative, QA/QC is an issue of late. My first case from them was manufactured by Lian Li in the ROC, everything over the last two years including my DK-05f is outsourced to the PRC. Guessing that is playing into these issues.

I have the new version with the new panels, however, they did NOT update the side panel. If you purchased this case and are unsure if you have the new vs. the old panels, compare your front/top panel to your side panel, if they match, you have old panels. Great case overall, looks great in white. I purchased from Newegg in the US.

Does the case support 360mm radiators at the top now? If not that is stupid, All they needed was 2mm or 2cm to make a 360 rad fit. If that wasn't also resolved what was the point in revising the case.

They did a recall but when it came back in stock they still shipped out the old panels by accident. The president of Lian Li sent out a notice to folks who bought it last week saying they made an error and will ship out the right panels. I was one of those unlucky buyers who got it on restock a week and a half ago.

I love the cube style of this case and like all but 2 things, 40% air flow should have bigger holes (more air flow) and a fine mess filter behind to catch normal dust and not just the 1.5mm dust and enough room to install an AIO on top.

I got a Lian Li Lan cool 2 Mesh and the top filter is so fine I can't feel anything coming out of it and there are 2 120mm fans just below it. I take the filter off most of the time.

While it's great they are fixing it, I don't understand at all how they shipped it initially. I understand the mistake in the production of the panels but did they not stress test in any of the production models which would have shown this problem immediately when compared to their own case models?

What is the smallest case that can fit a 14" GPU (~355mm). I just scored a 3070 ti AMP Holo Extreme, it won't fit into my tried and true HAF XB, so I need a new case. So far looking at the Meshify, 5000D, and Lancool II.

The holes aren't really larger, as much as the distance between each one is smaller and the plate is less beveled - as far as the whole "More light on the same background" part.

Excuse me, but you failed the configuration in my opinion. The fans on top have no sence with air cooling, because you pull out the cool air. You don't need theme, because the air comes up alone. Also the pressure Is usefull to cool the VRM heatsink. Sorry for my english.

Just think, if either Lian Li or you had done your dang jobs at all properly by checking with a basic set of $20 calipers, this would have been fixed way faster and more easily.

@@sparkplugbarrens In their original video they guessed as to the reasons behind the airflow limitation without actually trying to figure out why. I explained to them, to which they replied, that I was unconvinced by their testing considering they did not isolate the issue or, ya know, check if hole pitch is the same as cases like the lancool 2 mesh. I've stated to multiple reviewers that cases need 40% open area or greater, regardless of hole shape, for good airflow, and by checking hole pitch, you can pretty much garauntee a certain range of performance without even testing it. I practically begged for them to actually check hole pitch or to do isolation testing and they never did, even though, again, they replied and read those comments. All they had to do was confirm a basic physical trait of the case for the review since no one else had their hands on the case, yet they chose not to. I usually think they do a really good job but they lost a ton of patience from me as reviewers. I don't expect them to know why certain decisions in case design are made, but I expect them to know what those decisions are given the amount they review. I've designed and built several cases now and have run the gauntlet on airflow experimentation and testing.

@Livestream Fail I'm not convinced there was any ill will intended. I just think they showed a lack of desire for accuracy. It's something I've brought up multiple times with multiple reviewers. People have this weird belief that KZbinrs are essentially experts so they trust them nearly intrinsically. That's not something that should be taken lightly. It's not easy to grow a channel but it almost always has nothing to do with an individual's knowledge. It's mostly based on making engaging content, whether or not it's correct is irrelevant.

@@TheJjjoj I really like your point, about the necessity to also question KZbinr's opinions on products :) However, for me personally, they have done their job, when they are stating, that a case has bad airflow, because that helps me with my purchase decision. It is the manufacturer's job to determine the faults and to then improve the product. I am very jealous of your job, can you talk about which cases you helped to design? Or is that under NDAs? :)

Most of the cases I've designed have been custom solutions intended for very specific areas where cost takes a backseat to function and noise(or there is a safety concern being rectified). The most of a particular enclosure I've ever built was 12 units. Those were ceiling mounted and compatible with standard HVAC air filters. Because every one is different, I've pretty much tested every combination of perforated metal, synthetic and organic fiber, and plastic filters/panels you can think of. I'd love to be involved with some truly large scale development to see what I can do with volume. The reason that I argue that they failed to do their job comes down to their decision to speculate rather than verify. Again, all they did in their original review was state what they thought the problem was. This would have taken them less than 5 minutes to verify, whether before or after releasing the content itself. This includes after I brought it up and they responded to me. When 90% of products released from a manufacturer have similar airflow but this one randomly is testing very poorly, good practice is to verify that there was actually a change, because, empirically, you cannot prove the accuracy of your own testing unless you do. Anyone who does any kind of validation testing must be able to explain their findings. No one should be forced to just take their word for it.
