4:30 I've been using G9 for almost 3 years and I'm not placing two 16:9 windows next to each other, no sir: the BEST layout for 32:9 is one 16:9 window dead center, and two 8:9 windows on the each side of it. You really can't go back from that.
@GumusZee8 ай бұрын
Totally agree. Fancy Zones (from Microsoft Power Toys) makes this as easy to do as possible. For productivity, 32:9 is not "just two screens side-by-side". It's way more flexible: you can have your focus in the middle, have two things side-by-side, split to thirds, fourths or span the whole thing - all that with a single click.

SUGGESTION: when such a monitor offer two inputs to display simultaneously, please test that feature thoroughly: - what happens if one signal is hdr and the other isn't - if both signals havve different refhresh rates or different resolutions say both signals are HDR 144 , is the display seemlessly displaying the two inputs, or does the dual input infere on latency, qualit of the display , etc etc.. this monitor can do two 16/9 bezel-free inputs which will be the appeal for a lot of potential buyers "this is ltt, we're not even gonna test that" at east fort once you were blatently honest: LTT doesn't do indepth testing, LTT just challenges what the manufacturers puts on their boxes/specsheets. I bought the OLED G9. I purchased one with that sale price, but the monitor did not start and I had to return it. I bought another G9 hoping that worked. Again, that monitor did not work and I had to return it. I eventually decided I had it with the Samsung. Yes, the were $300 less. But I went with the Asus 49 OLED. I got tired of ordering, waiting for the monitor to arrive, setting it up, trying to get it to work, then packing everything back up again. And since returns don't get refunded for 30 days, I still don't have my money from either of the two monitors yet. Maybe I just had a bad streak of luck, but I've purchased numerous monitors before these and never had one issue with a monitor I've purchased online. The G9, both of them were defective. That left me with wondering even if I got a G9 initially that worked, would it still work 2 weeks from now. The extra $300 was worth the peace of mind going with Asus.

I have the G9 and can say that if you're looking for a really good, 32:9, OLED monitor, it is 100% worth waiting for it to go on sale. only thing about the G series OLEDs is that they can be a bit finicky when it comes to getting them set up properly, similarly to how you had to change an arbitrary setting to get peak brightness for this AORUS, you have to do the same for the G series. And if you can find it, get the one that doesn't have the smart technology built into it. It's cheaper, and all of the smart tech in my G9 has done nothing but frustrate me and make, and it adds nothing to the monitor except for let me change settings with a remote control rather than a built in joystick.

On a 34" monitor, it was >$300US to ship it back and they said they wouldn't cover anything that was clearly damaged in shipping or anything they concluded was not from a manufacturer's defect. The big appeal of the G9 OLED to me is the PBP mode supports 120hz refresh rate so it’s not terrible for gaming while watching KZbin/Netflix in fullscreen on the other side. If the Gigabyte only does 60hz in PBP it’s a dealbreaker. The thing I hate about my G9 is that it doesn’t stay in PBP, it resets at every bootup. But I got it for $995 brand new from Samsung so I can’t complain about the little annoyances. With the remote it is pretty quick and easy to swap modes. Edit: checked the Gigabyte manual and it says nothing specific about the PBP options such as supported refresh rates or aspect ratios.

120 is too low, when the g9 supports 240hz. I would like at least one half to support 240

Does it support HDR in pbp?

@@tomektak1972 The G9? No it doesn’t support HDR, Freesync, really any advanced feature in PBP mode, I’ve not yet seen a monitor that does support any of those features. The Gigabyte manual seems to indicate this monitor also does not support those features in PBP.

@@ArnoldsKtm I play mostly competitive games, which don't support ultrawide. I have dual 1080p monitors, want to upgrade to OLED. If it had all features in PBP I would get one ultrawide instead of 2 separate monitors...

Sad that it doesn't have two display ports to be used for PBP.

While I love's Plouffe's never ending quest for the best monitor, I'd like to see some more sub-500 USD monitors.

21:9 tends to be way more supported and well done then 32:9, it's the reason I still prefer 21:9

1:10 Why editor misses the opportunity every time Ploufe reviews a monitor to use "it's so big" prnmeme? WHY?!?!?

what's the ppi?

Same as a 27 inch 1440p display. Which I think is 109 or something.

I currently have two 27 inch, 1440p screens side by side on my desk. I really want this now, the PBP mode will work perfectly for how I currently use my screens. *EDIT* I just bought this monitor and I have been using it for two days now. It is a gorgeous monitor and I am loving it!
