One of my friends did this by accident in his F-150. He misjudged how big his truck was while coming down a level in the garage and turned too soon. Got yellow paint all over his black truck. He was HEATED. His truck was at least 6 or 7 years old at the time so I'd hate to imagine how he would react if it was a brand new truck.

Hey Sean! its been like 6 years since you have done a dashcam review. Do you have any recommendations for a front + rear dash cam for 2020? In my case budget is not an issue since I will be purchasing a new car soon. Hope you been well and stay safe!

Hey! Sorry, I haven't really been keeping up to date with my KZbin comments and just saw this. Although I haven't been posting any reviews, I work in the automotive industry now and work with dash cams and customers on a daily basis. My current favourite is the Thinkware Q800 PRO 2CH, in my opinion, it is the best value premium dash cam on the market. You get the super clear 2K QHD video resolution, along with all of Thinkware's other features such as their wifi app, red light and speed camera alerts, and super energy efficient parking mode. Being a premium brand, the price is going to be close to $500 CAD after tax for a front + rear system. If you are looking for something more budget friendly, then I would recommend the Viofo A129 Plus Duo. Featuring 2K QHD as well as a wifi app and decent parking mode feature. This model has most features that the Thinkware does, minus the red light and speed camera alerts, and is available for under $300 CAD after tax. If you're in the local Vancouver area, feel free to send me an email at xsupad@gmail.com and I can connect to you some local companies and installers that I work with. They should definitely be able to hook you up with a deal!

@@xSupaD Hey Sean, thanks for getting back with such detailed information - appreciate it! I'm located in the US unfortunately haha. I'll check out your recommendation, I was also looking at the blackvue DR900X-2CH
@xSupaD4 жыл бұрын
@@teamscoobydoo The DR900X isn't a bad camera either, but I always find that you get more for the same price in a Thinkware. For example, the Thinkware U1000 has 2K QHD in the rear along with red light and speed camera alerts, and is around the same price as the DR900X. BlackVue was also known for having reliability and overheating issues in the past, not sure if they've fixed that with their new X series since it's still quite new. Most people I know that go with BlackVue usually choose it for its sleek looks, which I can't argue against. BlackVues tubular design is industry leading for sure.

Adding on to that though, BlackVue does have a better Cloud feature than Thinkware, so if that's a top factor for your camera, then definitely go for the BlackVue.

@@xSupaD Got it, I saw some footage on the Thinkware Q800 PRO and its hard to make out license plates in the playback footages Edit. I know blackvue requires battery pack for their parking mode so you don't drain out your car's battery. As for Thinkware Q800, you don't need a battery pack because it uses low power consumption during parking mode with their motion and impact sensor detection.
