Hello I was very interested to read what you had to say. I’m actually a trombonist who played semi pro for about 6years ..so I picked up Bass Guitar and played successfully for about 9 years..I’m self-taught on both instruments and I did well on electric bass actually got pretty good. I did a lot of slapping pop, a lot of nice, jazz and blues stuff, but I decide to pick up guitar back in 2011 way over 10 years ago but I’m finally getting serious at learning how to play guitar .. anyway here recently I am interested in country guitar and it’s a pretty good challenge, but I do plan to work on getting as best as I can…anyway Good luck to your journey in learning how to play guitar as well as for myself may God bless you…E🙂

I’m a rock lead player learning country. Your strumming pattern has a nice groove. It would be good if you could break it down more: where are the up and down strokes, which strings are you strumming, what is the count. Right hand work is much more complex to learn than left hand. Cheers.

Yes, you are right about the pick hand really being where its at when playing guitar. I would have to go back and work it out, but if you have a chance check out Daniel Donato he is an Amazing country guitar player, I met him at NAMM a few years ago. He has a lot great country guitar instruction videos on YT and has also collaborated with Marty Music.

Did not realize you could lower the speed on videos. The G chord diagram does not include the pinky on high E string. Why the need for the headphones. What are playing in the background?

Hi Ken, I use the headphones to hear the drum track (digitech trio pedal) and guitar mix through my tascam digital recorder. I record with direct input, no amps. Thank you

Was this meant to be a Country Rhythm guitar lesson or what? not much Country picking going on, no Country string bending, I was waiting for the exciting moment, that never happened.

Sorry to disappoint John Carlo, I am mostly trying to help Beginners and keep the spirit of playing guitar alive. Life comes at you so hard and fast, some days I don't even get to play my guitar. So my channel is for the same type of people who might only get a few moments a day to play or practice or just try some new genre out with out having to go balls deep.
