Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

Ginger, lemon and cinnamon sticks if you have them. Quarter the lemons, rough chop a nob of ginger, couple of cinnamon sticks to a small sauce pan, fill with water, boil for 10 minutes. Pour into a cup, add honey to taste. Saves my throat constantly

Very cool. I was curious about shortening. Thank you. I hope you feel better soon. My job relies on my voice so I dread sore throats, but I find that the old standby of saltwater gargling speeds up my recovery, greatly. Best of luck!! I hope yours doesn't last long.

Onion tea works wonders! Peel & cut 1 small yellow onion into 4 sections. Put into small pot with 2 cups water. Bring to boil. Simmer for 10 min. Strain & drink. Add honey if you want. Feel better soon. God bless!

I got a ton of vegetable shortening from our local food pantry and I've been using it for soap and candles ; 2:1 crisco to coconut oil made hard bars that lathered beautifully. 🧼

Pretty soap. Never tried shortening. Quite surprised by the bubbles, thought it would be more of a snotty sticky feel but obviously not. I learnt heaps and keen to give shortening a try. Thanks for this. 🤓🤓🤓

When I first started soaping, I tried the shorting soap. I ended up hating it for the reasons that you didn't like yours. I do love your design. Thank you for the video. I hope you feel better soon.

Surprised not so hard given all the steric and palmitic acids. For extra hardness AND cleansing & bubbles, I will try with palm kernel oil.

How would this be listed in the ingredients? As Palm Shortening or by listing all of the ingredients?
@MrsSoapAndClay
@MrsSoapAndClay Жыл бұрын
Good question! Considering we can go either way with the labeling of soaps, you could do either of those, or list the what comes out of the pot. IE sodium palmitate etc
