My Uncle let me fly his little Cessna at 7 0r 8. I could only use the stick! Unc did the rudder. He couldn't believe I flew so smooth in such wind. This was waaaaaaaaaay before simulators! Never got to fly again for many decades. Then a developer made an air park down the road from my farm. Got to fly a LOT of different planes. The best was a owner hand built custom kit plane. I helped the Desert Storm Wart Hog pilot assemble.......mainly deburring rivet holes. LOL! That was a very maneuverable, but sensitive AF plane. In his hands, it was simply amazing. It must have been a very strong design. It could pull some serious Gs! Flying is ADDICTIVE AF!

Garrett, just keep in mind when you are doing a max performance take off like that where by you are hanging off the prop, your margin for error is very very small if your engine either coughs or quits completely. Your time available to push that nose down to prevent a wing stall is extremely limited. Flying is fun but it is a hard mistress if not paid due respect and margin for error.

That prop is a good fit for your airplane. Just remember, max climb on take off looks cool, but your setting your self up for disaster when (not if) you experience an engine failure on take off. Best to pop it off the ground and relax the climb out. Have fun, just don't set yourself up to fail.

I didn't know that Jeremy fired George, I always thought George just quit to go work for Garrett. But its pretty obvious Jeremy & Laz are still mad about the whole situation. It's also kinda weird how Cooper disappeared about the same time George was hired & we don't ever see Cooper or Jeremy in any of the videos, & they don't participate in any of Cleetus's events. But I will say bringing George on board was 1 of the best decisions Garrett made.

Those plane’s look really forgiving. I like the plane content my grandpa flew and I have some friends and family with planes so I dig it 😊

Now you need to get the boys to fab you up an adjustable pitch prop. Then you can have the short take off and cruise speed all in one.

Great video Alex! Still working on my 85 Z-28 LS swap. Week 3 of recovering from an injury while working on it so I laughed when you talk about hurting yourself while working on your cars. Hope to make it to the full the van event.

I can see George's heart has been stolen by flying. Not just flying, he seems to be drawn to the STOL - just like you. Having grown up around airplanes, I can see the spark in your eyes. Have fun.
