I don't know how you booktubers get through so many titles. It's really impressive.

I remember reading 'Bonjour Tristesse' when I was about the same age as the author - which was over 50 years ago, sadly. Although many of the details of the book are now blurry, I do still remember it as a work that made a great impression on me. If 'them upstairs' grant me enough further years, it's definitely one that I should like to read again. 'The Awakening' is simply one of the best novels/novellas I've read in the last few years. I had to re-read it immediately and I suspect a third reading will happen again soon. I loved seeing some of those older format Penguin books - they reminded me so much of all those Penguins I read in my late teens in the early 70s. Thanks for an enjoyable video!

Oh, it’s wonderful to hear how much you love some of the same books I do. My gosh, what a discovery The Awakening was for me this year. 🥰

Oh I remember reading The Millstone many years ago - ages since I have read her and must revisit her books! Thanks for reminding me!

Oh, I’m glad you’ve been reminded. I’m currently making my way through Jerusalem the Golden. I think The Millstone will be my favorite of hers, but I’m really enjoying the “voice” of Clara in this one too.

My favorite short book is 84 Charring Cross Rd. I treasure that book. I bought it when I was 19. Many moons ago. Have you read it? You should. I think you would love it, if you haven't read it. What is " pour over coffee?? Never heard of it!
@thelefthandedreader6632 Жыл бұрын
Hi Eileen. I I do want to get to that book. Pour over is a method in which you use a usually glass vessel designed for the purpose and it has a filter in it. You’re pouring, slowly, water from a kettle over the coffee grounds in this device and it produces fresh coffee almost like a percolator. It seems fresher than a regular coffee pot somehow.

Did you read A Handful of Dust? I read a year ago and loved it. The ending 😮

Oh yes! What a subtly sneaky book as the story builds!
