That be really Dope, a Hero Team that involves Terry Bogard to be as both a Member and Mentor Figure, but also having to play a Key Role is bound to be an Epic Story, Terry would've been the Perfect choice to not only Improve Shun'Ei's Character Development, but also Appeal to Audiences/Gamers in the West like America, I got nothing against Benimaru, but I feel his Popularity isn't as Big and Strong as Terry's (unless if Beni was Popular and only Appeals to Japanese Audience/Gamers).

When it comes to Tournament Stories in Fighting Games, they usually always let the Protagonists Win in all of them or other Times where they keep the actual Winner and Outcome as completely Mysterious. "Tekken" in Particular is always the Mishima Family (Jin, Kazuya and Heihachi) that keeps stealing all the Wins from other Participates, they're like the Hulk Hogans, John Cena's and Roman Reigns of the Series, "Mortal Kombat" also does a similar Thing with only having Liu Kang beating all the Final Bosses and Win 4 Times (despite MK3 has no Tournament), but his Streak did came to an End in MK: DA where it has no Official Winner, MK: Deception had Shujinko Win, however the Winner in MK: Armageddon was left in Ambiguity rather it was either Taven or Shao Kahn, "Street Fighter" is a whole another Story, since we *ALL* knew that Ryu was the very 1st Winner in the 1st Game, but in later Installments like SF2 and SF4 where they got Tournaments but were never officially Confirmed on who the Canonical Winner really is, at least Alex was declared the Winner in SF3: 2nd Impact, while others like Alpha 2, 3 and 3rd Strike don't have Tournaments are left with Interpretations, SF5 on the other Hand, yeah there's no need for Explanation since we all know how the Story goes, I'm actually kind of Surprised that "King of Fighters" almost didn't follow that Trend, while it does have the Protagonists Win the Tournaments and sometimes left them Ambiguous, it's Cool to know that some of the Side Characters got they're share of cool Wins.

Yeah. The Tekken series has the problem that the Mishimas are the only ones who matter. About MK, I am glad Midway did that bold move of getting rid of Liu Kang so other characters (old and new) could have better roles. About SF, yeah it is a big mystery of who was the champion in SF2 and SF4 and I kinda like that. It makes the possibility that most of the arcade endings are canon. This is something I don't like about Story Modes. It makes all the arcade endings pointless.

@@meganinten0078 Much as I like however Tekken's Narrative goes, the Mishima Family are Force to be Reckoned with, but they always keep Hogging the spotlight, Paul Phoenix was almost this Close to being the Champion in the 3rd Tournament and actually manages to beat Base Ogre all by himself before Jin face against Ogre True Form, I can Understand that Liu Kang is supposedly the Chosen Warrior so he was always Destined to Win in MK Tournaments, but when he got Killed Off in MK: DA, other Characters couldn't take up Mantle until Scorpion was the next Chosen Warrior until he got pushed into the Soulnado in his own Ending (well that was all for Nothing), Though "Street Fighter 5" may have a Story Mode, but unlike Netherrealms MK's Story Modes, the Character Story Chapters are all Canon within SF5's Plot even if some of them are not Present in the actual Narrative Story Mode.

Re: 2003-theres arguments for both K' and Ash teams fighting Mukai, but I agree about K'. In K' teams ending, there is an extra panel that actually has K' thinking of something Mukai said to him. No one else had this, which is why I think K' beating him popped up on so many old Japanese websites back in the day. The small argument toward Ash team was that he was there, defeated them and then was there to steal Chizurus treasure before anyone else. I can see the logic here, I just think the evidence points slightly more towars K' due to his ending. I agree about Hero team winning XV; I feel like that was the most likely team.

8:24 The sacred treasures team didn't defeat Mukai. Iori and Kyo rejected teaming with eachother again and I believe they didn't fight during 2003 at all. They only came after Mukai was defeated and Chizuri was injured from her fight with the K' team or the hero team when she was still being controlled by Botan and fighting with Maki.

One honorable mention you forgot is Seth. In the retelling of the NESTS saga in KOF all stars had the protagonist (the “bug”) join others in a team. 1999 had the bug and Kaya join K’ and Maxima (Kaya doesn’t fight but made up the last slot just to qualify), 2000 had the bug replace Seth after he was injured and is with Benimaru, Shingo, and Lin, and 2001 has the bug replace Iori as who the Agents team recruit. This leaves Whip out but made Seth a KOF winner in that canon.

Good video bro, I already knew that the KOF champion was Benimaru, and it is that in Latin America (or Latin America) a channel called Javiwario, uploaded a video of Champions of KOF, this after a trailer for the story mode of KOF XV was revealed (And that so Hate rained down on him for saying that the 2003 tournament was won by the Ikari team, Lol). But excellent detail in including the Maximun Impact saga and that of AoF and Fatal Fury, although it is speculated that in Maximun Impact, the one who won the second tournament was Soiree (Brother of Alba Meira) due to its ending and the relationship with the post-credits, and that the Saga AoF and Fatal Fury, is an alternative universe of KOF (this is because in 2006 SNK released an OVA called Fatal Fury Memories of Stay Wolves, which tells the complete story of Fatal Fury, from the first fatal fury to Garou, not to mention KOF, and even though Art of Fighting is not mentioned in this OVA, it is known to exist within Fatal Fury by Khushnood Butt (AKA in Japan, Marco Rodriguez). You know since KoF's theme is fire , i'd like to see if the next KOF protagonist is someone who has relation to both first two sagas. Like , their bloodline is related to Ninigi-no-Mikoto , the bringer of Sacred Treasures who basically has flames just like Kusanagi and Yasakani ( except their flames are silvery white ) , but an incident awaken their another power which is the onyx black lightning , which is from a strange serum developed by NESTS. This serum also turns the character into a bipolar persona due to the side effects. ( So in a way , they're like and not like Shun'ei too , as their way of dressing , unlike Shun'ei , were more simplistic compared to Shun's... whatever it is. )

I am confused of what exactly happened in Samurai Shodown actually. SNK Heroines is stated to be canon by the KOF 14 Director and Nokoruru's ending shows her Samsho 2 ending, so, did she kill Mizuki and become a spirit of nature in Samsho 2 or was it haohmaru who did that? Also SNK Heroines's winning pair is most likely Kula and Athena becaus they are all in all the official illustrations and the game cover.

Actually in kof XI it was kyo and iori team that defeated shion and magaki (all their profile pages confirm it) while team elizabeth won by "default" due to the former 's absence (benimaru admitted this in a conversation with chizuru in the hospital) so you could say that kyo and co won the tournament in a sense , when it comes to kof XIII im still curious as to who exactly won but im certain that maybe kyo and elizabeth teams worked together to defeat saiki (or maybe that's just a guess)

Like the DOA saga, there is a difference between winning the tournament and beating the final boss. Last I checked, Hayate has yet to win a tournament because he doesn't want to. Jann-Lee won a tournament, but Kasumi defeated the final boss. Helena won DOA3, but Ayane and Hayate killed the final boss. Street Fighter does the same thing. There is no official winner of the SFII tournament (We suspect Chun-Li), but Akuma was the one who killed Bison.

The issue with KOF powerlevels is that none of the characters are allowed to kill in the tournaments. Nakoruru 100% can kill people but holds back on tourneys. I am saying this because Athena is super haxed. In psycho power she can transform into a flying phoenix and fire lightning from her sword that makes you explode from the inside. In her PSX game, she could make a T Rex explode from the inside. A bloodlusted Athena could just look at Kyo/K/Shunhei/Ash and explode the. even if they is stronger than her and win by default by flying over the stage against opponents that do not have projectiles and burn them alive with her long ranged fire breath.

Saiki wasn't defeated, he just was intercepted by Ash Crimson and later erased because of the Paradox, Saiki almost destroy everything until he realized that the door was been closed. Elizabeth fought him but it wasn't enough.

King of Fighters will never say who is better than the others because it would upset the fans. It's like they and the fans have an unspoken bond of "Terry doesn't have to win another tournament ever...but don't ever make him seem weaker than Kyo or any of the other characters." So they give every fan favorite a side story away from the main plot. The closest we got in KOFXIV was Terry saying he would deal with Verse because he was one of Tung's original students, but Tung said to Terry that Shun'ei could handle it, so Terry just let them fight. It was SNK's way of saying "Terry COULD have defeated Verse, but they weren't worried about whether Verse would destroy everyone, and Shun'ei really needed the training." Terry fans happy, protagonist still wins tournament 😂

you forgot to mention KOF2001, where, like 97, K' team was the official winner, but K' needed the help of Kula, Kyo and Iori to defeat Ignitz, whi was still the man behind the whole Nests saga. Of course, that doesn't mean that's the official team that won the tournament, but i think it's just worth mentioning. Regarding KOFXV, it is heavily implied Hero team and Rival team reached the grandfinals. It is not 100% sure who won, but like you said Hero team has a little more chances

I think both Kyo's Team and Elisabeth's Team won KOF XIII. Kyo could have won by beating all regular teams and possibly Saiki alongside Elisabeth, while Elisabeth is the only one to fight Evil Ash.

@@kingdomcomesuperman3669 Yeah he's just deadset on Kyo, most of the time he only joined KOF because someone bribed him that he'd get to beat up Kyo if they team up and he agreed to that. I think the only times where he wasn't there just to fight Kyo was XI XIII and XV. Otherwise he hates violence and don't like fighting, he just acting scary to intimidate people because he don't want to hurt them as Riot of the Blood might takes effect anytime. Could be the explanation why sometimes he did entry as Single unit, he don't want people around him getting hurt by him.

I always thought that in 97 Team Orochi were the Hosts but they stand as a force outside the Tournament they still orchestrated the plan but it slipped my mind that the Champion is actually whoever won consecutive matches before being attacked by Orochi Iori or Leona which likely is Team Japan. I also think that when Goenitz came in 96 granted Chizuru hosted the Tournament and Team Japan by default were the winners but when Goenitz drops by I am sure Chizuru and Iori team up with Kyo then cause I don’t think Benimaru and Daimon fought Goenitz but they won the Tournament by defeating Chizuru prior. K’Dash Team defeafed Mukai I am certain and I say Elisabeth, Duo Lon and Shen Woo are the champions of KOF13. So for 2001 is the Champion whoever defeated OG Zero? Because he was loyal to NESTS and I’m sure if he knew what Igniz did by killing his own Father the Leader of the Organization, OG Zero would turn against Igniz but for sure K Dash and Kula Diamond defeated Igniz. I also am sure K’Dash beat Krizalid not Shingo unless Krizalid was not the host. So what about Fatal Fury 3? I’m thinking Terry Bogard won that too. As for those popular characters that held no titles well Iori helped defeat Goenitz, Team Orochi and Orochi himself and also along Kyo those two helped K Dash and Kula defeat Igniz. Also to give Kula credibility she helped K’Dash defeat Igniz and she pulled a fast one on Clone Zero. Ash Crimson sealed away Saiki a real big accomplishment and in doing so after being abscent came back canonically in KOF15!! Everyone else on that list didn’t accomplish anything.

Ah ok I thought FF3 had one. Thats what makes KOF unique compared to other Fighting Games like for Tekken you know Jin Kazama or a Mishima is going to win the Tournament, MK you knew Liu Kang was going to win but the 3D Era made things interesting and this was when MK was good not the garbage nrs we have now. Its good that KOF changes it up yeah Team Japan may hog up most wins but the winners always change up. I think KOF, Soul Calibur and DOA are the games that do good in changing their Tournament or Story Victors.

I don’t think it was Ash Team because though Ash stole Chizuru’s treasure, doesn’t mean he fought her, Team Japan couldn’t have been the ones either since there team ending in 2003 doesn’t imply they fought Mukai. It could even be no one since SNK has never said who defeated Mukai.

I agree. Also why it wouldn't make sense if the winners were team Ash, Ash was "supposedly" working for Saiki at that time. Him attacking Mukai would be considered as betrayal and ruin his true plans of destroying Saiki later.

Usually, in most KOF games, when you get to the character select screen, you will highlight the main character/champion of the game. Of course, exceptions are KOF 94, KOF 2003 and KOF XI.

Kyo, K', Ash and Shun'ei are the *MAIN* main protagonists, while Iori, Kula, Elisabeth, Isla, Benimaru and Adelheid are secondary protagonists, aka deuteragonists. Also, both Kyo's team and Elisabeth's team is said to win KOF XIII.

The winner of tournaments don't matter in these. Tournaments have rules, like time limits, ring outs, and many of the KOF cast is there as a distraction from their real intentions, so they hold back all the time. Terry never wins because he is only there to enjoy fighting. Ryo never wins because he has to show off certain moves and advertise for his fighting style (But his teammates hold him back). Kyo doesn't win because he is only interested in Orochi's seal. And etc.
