New footage, and a lot of it. This is a pretty good day for the SM64 beta community. Some things i've noticed and will point out are: -SM64 once had a minimap. Which button was used to trigger it though? My bets are on the L button. -We have much more footage of the ice level now, including where the Tall Tall Mountain slide was in the beta. -The castle's layout is mostly revealed. Door on far left leads to the ice level, the one on the far right is Dire Dire docks, the one next to DDD is Lethal Lava land, so the door next to the ice level is Whomp's Fortress, probably. -When Mario has 2 HP or less, the entire HP meter turns red, if you look hard enough. This is also the first time we've seen Mario's HP go this low in the beta, I think. -If you listen as Mario grabs a star, he says 'Yeah!', obviously in a similar voice as the rest of his beta clips. -Mario flies when shot out of a cannon, as if having a wing cap. However, there's at least one thing we have yet to see: While we finally have footage of Mario going into the doors that would lead to the backyard of Peach's castle in the final version, we don't get to see Mario actually go into the door at the end of the hallway, which is a shame. What was back there in the beta version? Will that ever be answered?

Oh my gosh. I have looked a lot into the Super Mario 64 beta, and never saw ANY of this before!! I didn't realize there were segments so extensively filmed. This is awesome! [Also neat seeing how confusing 3D controls were at first to people haha X3]
@StickFiguresMaster7 жыл бұрын
They actually found the cartridge someone demo’d at the E3 show at Nintendo back then when they were talking about the unveiling of the game, it’s only one particular game in existance also as well, it was a Nintendo 64 “Disk Drive” game that was a entirely completed Disk for the Nintendo 64 add-on but it was used for demoing purposes at the E3 show back in 1996, the game was label titled a bit differently also, it said Super Mario 64 Disk Edition and was the only one they ever made because the N64 DD failed to sale in Japan, so they couldn’t produce more cartridges with the budget they earned then to make more of the cartridge, the cartridge was however found being sold on eBay from someone auctioning it, the guy who got the cartridge/disk knew how to dump Nintendo 64 games on to the internet for the n64 emulators, so he dumped the game onto the internet, just look up Super Mario 64 disk edition on KZbin or else where and there may be a download link to download the disk for your own Nintendo 64 emulator. Nintendo’s not even going to break the links to the rom either, they were happy someone found the disk and are protecting the link so that it can’t be taken down :D

Simple. There were multiple people playing, right? They all went to a different star, and waited for the ones who weren’t at a star yet. Then they all collected them at the same time, causing the ye-ye-ye-ye-yeah. ... I wish lol

@@user-ku3sr7cl3u No that's actually a part of the title screen actually. If you rewind a bit you can tell the title screen starts and you can hear the coin sound before it plays the title screen. Mario's early voice was also used as an instrument in the title screen. You can check in footage for proof and if you'd like I can send you the source links.

While it's hard to say impossible, it is extremely unlikely. These were flash ROMs for tradeshow and testing use. Because of the expense of these cartridges they were normally overwritten frequently. Think of them like a scratch disk.
