When I do my Katas fast it's typically to hide my mistakes with dynamic movement and explosiveness... But I can see how a kata like this might require speed... My senpai is always telling me, you should be able to do the kata slow as well.

Umm. Swinging a flat sword... keep it straight. I'm no expert but you'll slap someone and not cut them
