SHOSHOLOZA MEYL, PORT ELIZABETH - JHB Return

A look into a typical trip on the Shosholoza Meyl train from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg and return. We travelled Sleeper class. Our trip was really enjoyable! Food was great and staff were good. Thumbs up to Shosholoza Meyl!

I always will love travelling with shosholoza. I have travelled with them for the past 31 years. I am now 43 and have travelled with shosholoza ever since alone to and from johannesburg to p.e and always travelled 1st class. Its the best trip ever everytime i travel. The staff on the train is and shall always be the best. Thanks to shosholoza.. I will be travelling again the second time this year

I love your choice of background music for this video. I recognise the Shosholoza song by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, but am also interested in the other orchestral music used especially from Bloemfontein onwards, entering and leaving Johannesburg Park Station for return trip to Port Elizabeth - and when riding over Nelson Mandela Bridge ? I have some Shosholoza Meyl videos of Premier Classe trips I undertook to Cape Town in November 2016 and again February 2018. I might edit them to use tracks you used. Cheers Michael.

Yes it just slipped my mind, how did the train from P.E. use Randfontein to Jhb corridor, that corridor is used by local and JHB-CPT trains only. The other long distance trains go via Germiston

are these trains clean? there have been some stories about messy toilets. is there food? bedding? suitable and safe for a family of 4 2 adults and 2 young children?

Has anyone taken the train recently of so how was the service In tourist class how much are the meals and alcohol. Can you get three course fancy meals I want to surprise my wife and I'm looking for a memorable experience Thanks
