Thank you for promoting opus 87. I too wish there were more live performances thereof. Lately I have been practicing the G minor number 22. The fugue reminds me slightly of his E minor prelude opus 34. They both have similar endings with the bass bolstering the profundity. But great endings are not uncommon in Shostakovich. In fact, my wish to hear myself playing the ending of the G minor prelude in opus 87 is the main reason why I decided to start practicing it

Thank you for posting this, it was very informative. These are some of my favorite 20th century piano pieces, and for some reason they are not played often in recitals here in the United States.

Про ре-бемоль-мажорную Гаккель написал, что там "военный ужас", только в мажоре... (только об исполнении М.Гринберг), и мне уже не отделаться от "склонности" к этому образу... А в каком смысле ДДШ не был пианистом? Большое спасибо за лекцию.
