I believe the score was lost for many years. The piano score was found only in 1999 and the suite was recreated from it.

@@gateau. Yes and no, because two different suites have become confused. The 'Suite for Jazz Orchestra No. 2' of 1938 was lost and rediscovered as a piano score in 1999, but in the meantime another suite had turned up and been mistaken for it. That's the one - 'Suite for Variety Orchestra No.1' - that contains the Waltz No. 2. Full details in Wikipedia.

@@iainmillington904 well I was never able to mechanically do a proper vibrato on the violin no matter how many hours and years I tried. I especially noticed his abilities after watching him play Scheherezade.

My 9 month old granddaughter lights up when I play this for her ! She’ll insist on a waltz hold with her and we’ll waltz around the room. Oh the beautiful melody that you bring out on this piece. one reason to dislike would be that syncopation disturbs the waltz beat. it would hard to dance to this performance

@@argynkuketayev4166 Like Chopin's waltzes, I don't think this arrangement is meant to be danced to. I couldn't imagine actively pressing dislike to a work like this but you can't please everyone all the time clearly, it's only 1% that pressed dislike.

@@argynkuketayev4166 I don't agree. Syncopation doesn't affect dancing as long as the beat stays true to the piece --- and it absolutely does. If you're familiar with waltzes, the intentional dragging in spots is the way the waltz is danced, and he nails it. Perfect for dancing.

Right out of the gate, from 1:00, I thought this was going to be a pedestrian, very safe interpretation of this remarkably moving piece, but at 0:40 I realised I was entirely wrong. The right hand arpeggios are nothing short of wonderful! This quite possibly augments what 'Shostakovich composed. Carnival-esque, romantic, very grand, beautiful, and daring. LOVELY! @@loreo.3538 just google Florian noack scores. They seem to be on something called Nkoda now - a digital edition. When I bought mine it was a physical copy from Sikorski, but now their website diverts to boosey, so maybe they were bought? Anyway it seems available from Nkoda - whatever that is.
