Often the pianist is forgotten in all comments, but I want to write and say her name, Elisabeth Brauss, and don´t you forget it! She is a coming star.

And now she has had solo concerts, at BBC, at Wigmore Hall, and so on. So I wasn´t completly wrong...

I saw her playing Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 2 at Liverpool Philharmonic tonight. Absolutely magical.

One of the best trios, I think, with its inner lyricism, combined with this outrageous outbursts of anger and despair. And in between, a try to see this as a normal behavior. As if life is this way. This trio, Noa Wildschut, Elisabeth Brauss and Alexander Warenberg fullfills all my expectations about this phenomenal Shostakovich Piano Trio No. 1. Thank you.

Gut artikulierte und zugleich lyrische Aufführung dieses fein komponierten Trios im idealen Tempo mit perfekter Mitwikung zwischen den drei Spieler. Echt hörenswert!

Greetings From Mumbai, India. I am a Classical, Sacred, Baroque, Ballet, and Opera Music Lover. I totally dig the Piano and Cello Works of Shostakovich. Russian Classical Music is to die for specially the works of Balakirev, Glinka, Prokofiev, and Rachmaninov to mention a few. I am a Huge Fan Of the Piano and String Masterworks of Beethoven, Haydn, and Mozart in particular. I love your Channel immensely as I strongly believe that the Dutch are the most cultured people in the world along with Germans and Austrians. I have a keen interest in Dutch Baroque Music. I was born and raised on The Ballet Music of Giselle and specially that of Swan Lake performed by the classy Kirov Ballet. I am an Indian Catholic Christian originally From Goa and hence I love Gregorian Chant a lot as well as the Sacred Masses of Josquin Des Prez, Lasso, Victoria, Palestrina etc. I also love specially the Unknown Operas composed by Handel and Haydn respectively. Merry Christmas

This is a very romantic and hopeful Rachmaninov-esque, Arensky-esque, Myaskovsky-esque young Shostakovich. This one is a much better rendition than that of Nebolsin-Jansen-Thedéen. It is simpler and more wholesome. Bravo to the young group.

Really romantic and passionate and it sounded like C major to me. The playing was magnificent.

THis trio dates from the "expressionist" youth period of the composer, and is said to depict an unhappy love.

this music is weird, is nothing like beethoven, mozart or tchaikovsky it is weird and difficult with some brief good moments.
