This whole symphony is brilliant! I have played piano & celesta a couple of times, for example in Helsinki Philharmonic under beloved James de Preist.

As a percussionist, I always love playing cymbals with a Russian composer's music. I'm old now, so I don't know if I could pull off Tchaikovsky'ys 4th, but I think I could do this one :)

Indeed I feel a lot of Anti-Soviet agitaton and bourgeouis formalism on it. Luckly, Comrade Jdanov will apply the due measures.
In my opinion, the end was way too fast haha but they sound incredible!

Yes I absolutely agree, the old man was speeding too fast, there's no nuance in melody line at all. It's a failure. Listen to Bernard Haitink version with the Concertgebow issued on DECCA level, it's a HUGE DIFFERENCE, WORLD APART. This is lousy, what happened to Solti that evening?

Music is here to have fun and experiment with, I find this tempo enjoyable, if you don't like it go listen to any of the 50,000 other recordings and stop elitistically whining
