In my 39 years of working with Palestinians they are very careful about what they reveal. I researched what they said and if they said a few hundred died, it was several thousand. It was consistently less than the reality. I asked why, and they said they were trying to save me from feeling the level of pain they were feeling. You are right to shudder. One example they did tell me made me nearly throw up. The level of cruelty Israel inflicts on the Palestinians would make the worst serial killers shudder.

What's so sick is that the psychological warfare experts know that, they've even run programmes the past 60 yeras in the West to deliberately induce trauma in young people to create humans of specified psychological make-ups. The challenge comes when the natural desire to breed requires those anaethetized emotions to be reawoken. What we are going to need are hundreds of thousands of the most empathic, wise, spiritually emancipated people on earth to channel all their highest human impulses into bringing those brutalized children through what can often be terrible, life-lasting traumatic experiences so that they remain able to love, rather than descend into an addiction to kill, to brutalise and to expiate their own unbearable suffering.....
