Very impressive! Those maneuvers and gimbal movements were very smooth. Doesn't even look like drone footage. But at the end of the day that's what we are all after :-)

+FPVEE J Thanks for noticing :) The P4 is quite smooth, I still need to practice the gimbal a little bit, as this was my first day out with the P4, its very similar to the P3, but feels a little different.

Nice video, did you use an ND filter on the lens?

Hi Colin, were you using active tracking on the canoe shots whilst circling around them?

+Jo's Cruise Tours no, these are all manual shots

Great video, my phantom comes tomorrow morning quick question do you take your video footage from your phone? or do you take it directly of the sd card? is there a quality difference between the two?
@photoshopcafe8 жыл бұрын
+nathan mackenzie I shot in 4K to the card, and edited in 4K, but I just output it as 1080, I could easily do a 4k version (Its 4k in the timeline), but so few people can take advantage of it.

Awesome video and great location! I love this area just north of those jetties is Balboa Island and the other side south of the marina is Corona Del Mar. I shot a (amateur) video there when I first got my p3a about a month ago. I was pleasantly surprised how nice it turned out. Please check it out and tell me what you think. Love your channel! Cheers, Greg

honestly guys I can watch your dji films all day I'm saving for a phantom 4 but I'm a cook so my paycheck is limited but I'll have it soon ⊙.@

These are nice shots but all the footage has serious issues with compression artifacts.
@photoshopcafe8 жыл бұрын
+pepekai Its a compressed format. You can shoot the X5R if you want to shoot uncompressed. I really don't need that though.

How about a showing vid made by a friend who has never flown a drone before. I suspect that I would have a hard job of it to match your 'little clip', and would like to see the P4 in the hands of a novice like myself. Of course you would give brief training... I would like to get one myself, but am not confident that I would get great results like yours without a massive time investment that I cannot afford. Thanks.

+septimusfry I think my very first drone video "flight of the phantom" is still on my youtube channel. It was horrible! lol That was with a Phantom 1 and a gopro. Yes, you wont get this the first time out, or probably the 50th time out. Like all forms of art it takes time and practice. Just like photography, the more you do it, the better you get. The newer gear does make it a lot easier than it was when I first started. If you aren't willing to invest the time, you wont get the great shots, and that's ok. Maybe this isn't the hobby for you? However, I have been flying and shooting almost every day for the past 3+ years and this wan't my intention. I figured I'd do it for a few weeks and move on to something else. You might just discover a passion and realize that it's time loved, and not "afforded" And I really don't care which brand or model you fly, I don't work for DJI, so its no skin off my nose if you by a Phantom or something else. I do have some free tutorials on drones for beginners if you are interested though photoshopcafe.com/drone

+photoshopCAFE Fair enough. But my comment/request was related to the apparently awesome new autonomous features of this model which may make it as easy to fly as it is easy for an i|Phone owner to produce pretty fair photos. Before model helicopters (one pair of blades) had a proper collective, the RC of such a helicopter was really hard (perhaps like a Phantom 1 with goPro), but nowadays, the control is almost as easy as flying a monoplane. I shall just have to watch for P4 postings by debutant fliers.
@photoshopcafe8 жыл бұрын
+septimusfry And, yes a beginner can easily fly and shoot. If they are already a good photographer, they will get get shots right away. Personally I think the easy part is the flying, it is very easy. It has been for a while now.
