Shot Glass UV Printing | With the Roland BD-8

Let's print on a shot glass to see the BD-8's quality. I'm printing directly onto the bottom of the glass using an Illustrator workflow before going into Versaworks. This isn't dye sublimation but rather direct to object printing.

The BD-8 is a mini UV printer from Roland's VersaSTUDIO line. It's a great size for home based businesses, startup brands, or small retail shops. It can can print on tons of things like phone cases, laser cut acrylic, wooden coasters, and more - we're just getting started here :)

Hi there, this printer won't be able to fit a full sized wine bottle, but perhaps one of those mini liquor bottles which I can try out

@@PrintBestie Thank you so much.I am curious on the positioning of the bottle. For example, if you have 200 bottles to print , how can you ensure they are always in the same position? Usually, a glass bottle will have a LUG ( notch ) , the lug should be in the back and the deco in the front , how does that work..

If you print multiple passes the ink does build up for some texture, but not a whole lot. Would make for an interesting video :)

Can it print on a tumbler?

Not on a regular sized tumbler as they would be too thick. The max size for cylindrical items is 2 inches diameter. So something like a sauce bottle or perfume bottle is doable.
