This is extremely exciting! I am fortunate to be partnering with LogoJet to create video content using their UVx40R PLUS UV Printer. Using this machine in combination with my Epilog lasers will allow me to create even more unique projects.

Ink usage is dependant upon your volume. However in comparison to Sublimation you per cost item is 2-25% of what an equal sublimated item would be. Of course, not including your initial investment. Maintenance is simple as long as you keep on top. Nothing Major, Nothing you have to take apart..simple up keep and cleaning. Of course the more you use it the more it needs to be cleaned, but it's relative. Consider it a Corvette, since it costs 1/2 of what a New Corvette Costs....LOL

That's rad! How durable is it after printing? Do you need to clear coat it or anything to help it stay intact?
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment Жыл бұрын
You can actually print a clear coat on top of it. I haven’t tested durability but it’s supposed to be pretty good assuming you use the correct adhesion promoters.

@@malonecustomdesigns Very good Printer, Great company, but because we're a smaller Mom n Pop biz, Mimaki was too big for us. too many different types of equipment. Huge Company. The dealers were very good with good reputations, but again, a bit to big and diversified. Logojet is small, basically UV Printers, and a new DTG printer, but, small enough to still be personal but the manufacturer company is big enough to support the equipment. Let me give yo a little insight. Ordered mine, almost $40K. arrived 9 days later. FedEx decided the box needed to be severely ventilated, with a forklift. Called Logojet, sent pics, and they had a replacement shipped the next day. No question, no wait, no nonsense. Put me at ease right then right there. I have had high dollar equipment shipped and damaged, or just not working and it was always a night mare, jumping thru hoops, waiting for shipping investigators to come and verify, waiting til they got the damaged item back before shipping a new one, even had one try and send me a refurb in place of a new replacement...Logojet, 110% what a company should be, and it's been the same everyday since.

When you print on material how about testing with and with primers (adhesion promoters) and let us know the results on acrylic, metal, wood etc. It is hard to get much info for starting points on UV printers other than just try it yourself but that takes time and that means down production time
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment Жыл бұрын
I think that’s why a lot of UV owners don’t want to tell people. Kind of like laser owners in the past of figure it out for yourself. Once I get more comfortable with the machine I plan to try things like this.
@davidsanchez9674
@davidsanchez9674 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that going to be difficult. Primarily because there are so many variables. Quality of substrate, environment, actual print...For us, we use very little Adhesion Promoter. However we live in SW Missouri where humidity is a HUGE issue. Every substrate reacts differently. 2 same substrates from different vendors/manufacturers can react differently. Unfortunately there is a bit of trial and error.

Hi, what kind of fabrics or can it print on fabrics? Thanks7!
@MakerExperiment

This one is direct to substrate. You would need to use a DTG printer for fabrics.

+ The UV printer is an important complement to laser equipment. + A laser is for cutting or marking. + It is not understood that there are so many people in the network wanting to obtain photographs of people or animals or making cup holders, in a laser equipment. It's like wanting to watch a movie on a black and white television. + The problem of the UV printer is not so much the initial cost but the cost of maintenance in supplies, such as ink, etc. + In addition, for UV you have to have a market. It is better to start subliminating.
@MakerExperiment
@MakerExperiment Жыл бұрын
You’re definitely right on those points. It’s a lot of maintenance and consumable cost.

My business is hoping we can upgrade and get this machine. Does Logojet train you how to use the printer when you purchase it, or do you have to pay for 1:1 with a technician?
@MakerExperiment

It’s an additional charge for them to come out and train you but if you’re not familiar with UV printers, I highly recommend it. Are there any questions I may be able to help with?

It was the same with me, BUT, the supply chain, trucking, fuel price issue made the decision easier. Because you can use, buy, make substrates from OTC products, it was a no brainer for us. With 99% industry substrates and supplies coming from China. We Sandblast Pet Memorial Stones, which the stones are shipped to dealers here in Missouri from Colorado and the Pacific NW. Never in our wildest dreams would we have ever thought we wouldn't be able to get River Type Stone. SURPRISE...Our local dealers haven't had deliveries since March... Yes, expensive,,,if yo have an established biz, you should be able to make you money back fairly quickly. If you other equipment, Laser, CNC etc...it's like printing money. As far as maintenance,,,fairly simple...

You can print onto it but I don’t know how it will hold up. If it’s rigid ink, it most likely won’t hold up to being rolled up over time. If it’s flexible ink, it may but I don’t have any experience with that. That would be a great question for LogoJet.
