On one of the darkest days in our history, a man by the name of Henryk Siwiak made his way to a new job in Brooklyn New York. He never made it there and instead lost his life. He was the one and only recorded homicide in NYC on 9/11. The only question is, who did this...and why? Rest in Peace Henryk Siwiak.

Thank you very much. Americans have really big hearts! I wish you all the best! Let us never again witness such horrendous actions like those on September 11... P.S. I'm not family, just from his home country. But I believe his children and wife would be happy with all the kind words here, hope they will respond to those videos one day!

I feel really badly for this man and his family. 9/11 was an insane day in NYC’s history. I remember first responders being called from all over the tri-state to help out because the destruction was that big. First responders from all five boroughs, Long Island, Staten Island, NJ and CT were in lower Manhattan trying to rescue people and find bodies. It’s a shame that Henryk might never receive justice due to the lack of resources. I hope that his killer either comes forward or slip up and get turned in.

they are probably thinking nothing is going to happen to them. and they are right. the case of Henryk Siwiak will never be solved. The city will only look towards what happened to the towers and nothing else. With each year passing it's less and less likely for him and his family to rest either on a bed or six feet underground peacefully because they know that the man that killed them, their father or their husband was stuck to rot in a jailcell for their remaining days

My neighbor worked in the towers and was late that day getting there and that pretty much saved her life cause she worked on the high floors. I remember watching the buildings smoking through my binoculars seeing things floating down thinking it was windows falling out but later on finding out it was people jumping. It haunts me till this day . My mind never been the same ..a matter of fact the world has not either !

I feel you on that. I was in high school, senior year at Washington Irving high school. When the towers hit my school was used as a fall out shelter because it was close by. Me and my friend refused to stay in the building and left out the back. Stood on the corner near Irving plaza. There was a bar with open ceiling to floor windows and they had the TV playing the news. Normally we would either take the N or R train from union to times Square and Transfer to take the 1 train Uptown. Other times we would just walk to 6th Ave and take the 2 straight to 96th. No trains were in service but we walked toward sixth Avenue anyway so we could turn and walk Uptown. When you turned back to look downtown, 6th Avenue is known to have that crazy view of the towers. It's still like that now with the new tower. But on that day it just looked like the earth was swallowing everything up. I just put on my Discman and kept walking Uptown. Refused to look back. It was a long, eerie and quiet walk to 103rd where my team was. Never been so happy to link with my friends. What a terrible day. My bot was freaked and went his own route. Can't even blame em.

I only discovered your channel only two days ago, and it's already one of my favorite KZbin channels ever. One of the greatest humans ever!!
@BiggieTrismegistus
@BiggieTrismegistus 6 ай бұрын
Toussaint L'Overtoture helped free all those enslaved people...and the his pals almost immediately enserfed them. They weren't property anymore; they were just an inseparable part of landed property. They _had_ to stay there and work for their new lords. It's totally different, you see. Abraham Lincoln 👊🏻👊🏻 makes the leaders of the Haitain Revolution look like the Bolsheviks by comparison. The Haitian Revolution wasn't the only successful slave revolt in history either. The Mamluks took over in Egypt in the 13th century and ruled until the Ottoman Turks rolled into town in 1517. We don't talk about that though because those millions of enslaved white people in the Middle East and North Africa don't make race-baiter's dicks twitch. There's a reasons the words "Slav" and "slave" are so similar after all

No one will forget that day for sure. I was in my deep sleep from coming home like around 4 am. My mom actually was waking me and telling me about the twin tower that was hit by a plane. But I took it lightly because as she is explaining in Spanish it did not hit me. So I said “mom I will watch it later. But she had her radio loud enough that I can listen to the news. So I get up and turn the tv on and I see the north tower was hit live on tv. And as I am watching the news I see the next plain and I froze. I scream “mom this is on purpose oh my God.”I could literally step outside and view what was going on cause we-lived across the Hudson but I did not I was stuck on the screen. May all that perished that day continue RIP. New York City is ruthless, some areas you have to be more vigilant. You cannot portray yourself as an outsider or tourist per say. And you must carry an attitude on your demeanor if not you will be targeted in a heart beat. May Henryk Siwiac RIP

I really feel as though this man’s murder will never be solved. As much as I hate to say it, it feels as though his killer is pretty much long gone, and had most likely fled NYC sometime shortly after the attacks. If anything, the small police presence at the crime scene due to the terrorist attacks earlier that horrible day gave the killer an opportunity to flee the city, never to return again. I guess if 9/11 was prevented, then maybe Siwiak’s killer would’ve been in prison by now. But sadly, nothing can be done to change the past. The killer may never face justice, and Siwiak’s family will never get the justice they deserve, and I truly feel bad for them. I guess that’s another reason why 9/11 should’ve been prevented, among a long, LONG list of reasons why it should’ve never taken place. Rest in Peace, Henryk Siwiak.

There was also a young woman with medical training who mysteriously disappeared in a window roughly from the night before to the night of the attacks. There was CCTV footage capturing her the day prior to the attacks which is quite eerie as she interacts with an unknown woman.

Yeah I know the story well. Nobody knows what actually happened but given her close proximity to the towers it's likely that's where she passed. There was also a lot happening in her life prior. In Arizona they added the name of Balbir Singh Sodhi, a Sikh (ie not a Muslim) man, murdered in that state on September 15, 2001 as "retaliation" for the 9/11 attacks to a memorial for victims of the 9/11 attacks. They tried to remove his name but an outcry forced them to keep it. I think him being included is fitting because it shows how hateful horrible events can cause more ripples of hate and violence after the initial incident.

They just kept saying "IDK something happened in new york i think we're under attack" which is why kids were leaving we thought it was going to happen to us. My mom took us back home too. We get home ,turn on the tv, i was talking to my brother with my back to the tv & all of a sudden the look on his face was DEVASTATION i was confused so i turn around & all I see are 2 buildings on fire then collapsing our souls left our body. Terrible story, terrible day. As soon as you said "Nostrand Av," I thought "Bedford/Nostrand Av, G train, nope, don't get off there at night alone, unless youre from there, not a good spot back then, no idea what it's like now." Used to take G at Classon Av (lived at 574 Myrtle, building isn't there anymore) to Broadway for work (101 Walton St, IS 318) or up to Metropolitan, sometimes cross over to take L (Lorimer) to Manhattan. Moved to 574 Myrtle on August 25, 2001. Been following your channel for a while, definitely enjoy it.

I was 5 years a old and in first grade. We were sitting down writing about animals. I wrote about rhinos. An announcement came on the loud speaker that they’re was an immediate dismissal. When I came out the building, parents was going crazy and helicopters all over the school. I remember like it was yesterday. We was rushed out of school.

Sneha Phillips was a similar case. She was seen the night before 9/11 but disappeared on the actual day. Some say she went into the buildings to help since she was a medical professional. Just a weird case

On 9/11/2001, I was in the gym with my children, at work. We all thought it was a accident. Until the second plane hit. I have burnt papers from Merrill Lynch, and other companies from the World Trade Center. I live in Brooklyn, NY. All the white and black soot was all over our neighborhood and cars. We will never forget.

Even though I didn’t live here at this time. I was traumatized when I found out in school, Florida. They let us go home early. Not even 30 mins after. I had to walk home, because school wasn’t far. But I was so scared and kept looking at the sky. When I heard the planes in the sky I got so nervous. Even today…. And I get so nervous going to the city now…. And think about what ppl went through that day. Every time I go 😞

I had just moved from Far Rock to Suffolk County Long Island on August 2nd. 9-11 will always be etched in my mind. I remember how beautiful and clear that day was going over Riker's Island Bridge for work. I was then assigned to go to the Queens Court Complex. Leaving Riker's not knowing that the World Trade Center would not be there on my return. One of my good friend's Mom worked for Cantor Fitzgerald and she would never see her Mom again. So much sadness. RIP Mr Siwiak.

I like there's something to that theory. He was wearing fatigues and despite being Polish kind of had a more swarthy look to him. I think if you saw him you'd suspect he could be Middle Eastern. Through the language barrier on top of it and I think it's possible someone wanted to be a hero by taking out one of "them". On September 15 a man named Balbir Singh Sodhi was murdered in Mesa, Arizona by a man named Frank Silva Roque in "retaliation" for the 9/11 attacks. Sodhi wasn't even a Muslim. He was a Sikh from the Punjab region. If you know the history of the Sikhs you'll know they aren't exactly being on Muslim rule. After murdering Sodhi Roque went and fired at a Lebanese-American cashier at a gas station. _Again_ he screwed up because most Lebanese people in the US are Christian, and they don't have any great affection for Muslims either. Hate murders are dumb enough but this Roque guy was too stupid to even pull one of successfully. Frank Silva Roque was convicted of murdering Sodhi and sentenced to death, later commuted to life in prison. He died behind bars last year. Just make the story even more miserable less than a year after Balbir Singh Sodhi's murder his brother, Sukhpal Singh Sodhi, was killed in San Francisco by a stray bullet from a gang shootout.
