Greg did the right thing taking imanaga out of the game, because the Cubs have too many players on the IL . I would like to have seen him finish the no no with a much lower pitch count.

I am a Japanese fan, but that is wrong. The score difference had opened up, so the burden should be reduced as much as possible. I certainly wanted him to pitch until the 9th inning, but I think it was right to switch him for the future.

With the Steele news yesterday it made me wonder if they wanted to protect Shota even more. The errors kinda sucked & extra pitches could have made a difference?!

It should’ve been Shota’s decision to stay in or come out. If Craig Counsell asked if he wanted to go back out and he said no then he made the right decision. Unpopular opinion, combined no hitters aren’t a big deal. Huge Cubs fan but I couldn’t care less about a combined no hitter. Kerry Wood’s 20K game, the one hit he gave up should’ve been an error. Doesn’t matter, not a no hitter. No hits in the game for the other team, doesn’t matter it wasn’t the same pitcher. If combined no hitters are just as important then why not change pitchers every time through a rotation? Less likely to hit them if you only see them once. You can’t compare the Dylan Cease’s no hitter to this game. End of rant.

He should have finished, he gets more rest than anyone on the staff. Fergie had 30 complete games one year and Ryan threw 230 pitches in a complete extra inning game. Its ridiculous how they baby the pitchers. Like his arm was gonna fall off. Some of these comments are pathetic
