I’m a Yankee fan and I teared up. We loved getting Rizzo, and it’s sad the concussion has really killed his career. But he’s forever a Cub and probably the most beloved Cub ever. He’s always been one of my favorite players growing up watching. I’m glad he got a ring too, especially with the Cubs

Anthony Rizzo such a class act. He visited my grand daughter in Lurie's and was so kind to her. I still remember eating lunch at Buffalo Wild Wing's on 7/29/2021, and seen that Rizzo was traded. This made me mad, sad, angry that I lost my appetite. Rizzo you will always be a cub, once a cub always a cub 4 life. Chicago loves you Anthony Rizzo and don't ever for get that CHAMP.

Rizzo is a great player, everything the Cubs needed him to be. He never set any records, he won't make the hall of fame, and will eventually fade away to be forgotten, like most great players from the past. But this is what baseball is about, appreciating the moments while we still have them. Thank you for the memories, Rizzo.

Revisiting this video 2 months later and it's got me tearing up again. I wish so badly that he could have stayed with the Cubs. Leading up to the trade deadline in 2021 I had already made peace with the fact that Bryant and Baez were probably gone, even though it was still going to hurt. Rizzo being traded seemed like it came out of nowhere and was like a punch to the gut. I've never felt so heartbroken to see a player leave one of my favorite teams.
